[SOLVED] Recovery bricked PS3

Hey there I bricked my ps3 using the ps3xploit method- I have a slim ps3 cech 2504b which is minimum ofw is 3.60.I didn't have a valid dump .Is there a way to fix it ??
You didn't heed our warnings both in the flash writer instructions & on the flash writer Web page itself! Before using the flash writer, a MinVerChk is necessary on 25xx models due to the fact that the latest 25xx are not cfw compatible (Minver > 3.56).
To be completely safe, a MinVerChk should actually be done on all slim consoles due to possible refurbishing.

Your 25xx console is partially bricked & only a Hardware Flasher like E3 or Teensy can recover it.

Would it simply be a clean or "rebuilt" dump flashed back? And if that's the case can partial bricks usually be undone by an e3 flasher, even on min3.60+ models?

Also (aside from the per console code) could ANY valid 2504/25xx flash dump work properly, or be rebuilt to work properly?

Partial bricks can be recovered from on all nor/nand ps3 consoles using a hardware flasher.

You can either

1. flash a valid dump made before the partial brick.

2. flash a dump made with the hardware flasher after you fix & validate it.
Ps3xploit Flash Writer only writes to ros0 & ros1 so you can fix your hardware flasher dump by patching it with ofw CoreOS to replace both ros regions with valid 4.82 CoreOS data & the fixed dump should then validate successfully.

How would you get the hardware flash dump? Simply flash a valid dump (like the one from PS3Xploit) and after it's fixed, then make a hardware flash dump? And why if you don't mind me bugging you, do you need to make/have a 2nd flash dump and flash it?

No, you don't "need" to have a 2nd flash dump, in fact getting a dump prior to the brick isn't necessary per se.
It's just that having an ofw dump made before any patching makes things easier in general, especially for noobs.

Anyway, once connected to the console's flash memory, a hardware flasher can both dump the flash memory and write to it.

You need to dump the flash memory first.
Fix the dump, in your case by replacing ros0 & ros1 by a valid 4.82 ofw ros. You can either get the 7Mb ros from a valid dump made on ofw 4.82 or build a ros manually using data from the 4.82 ofw PUP file.
Validate the fixed dump.
Finally you need to write the validated dump to the flash memory.

No, you don't need to have a 2nd flash dump, you don't need any dumps made prior to the brick at all.

Once connected to the console's flash memory, a hardware flasher can both dump the flash memory and/or write to it.

Validate the fixed dump.

Sorry but that gave me one more question. You fix the dump by inserting code from another dump that's valid right? And rebuilding the "hybrid" of 2 or more dumps? So ANY Valid NOR dump will fix nor and any valid NAND dump will fix NAND? or can nand fix nor and vice versa (with more work maybe?)?

Copying the ros data from a valid dump to fix a bricked console dump is one way of doing it.
There are other ways.

And it also depends on the type of brick.

Someone who applied the ps3xploit patch to a console already on CFW will brick his console. That kind of brick can be fixed by dumping the flash memory & applying to it the nofsm patch using pyPS3patcher.

However someone who applied the ps3xploit patch on a console non cfw compatible cannot use the same method as above. The flash memory must be dumped & fixed using genuine ofw CoreOS data.
Genuine CoreOS 4.82 data can be obtained from a dump from any console running ofw 4.82 as it is generic (identical on all ofw 4.82 consoles) or it can be done manually using HxD & the 4.82 ofw PUP.

Edit:

location of the translate point

check dump

later on it will be needed for patch dump
1) connect e3 flasher to ps3 (+ translate point)

2) change the name of the memory image from "dump.hex" to "bkpps3.bin"
3) patch dump with this program
4) insert the patch dump on the microSD card
5) set the switches to 1000000 (1 - it's up 0- down)
6) turn on ps3 after 1 minute "START"
7) after completing the switches you set to "000000" and "START
8) after the end, disable ps3 completely from the network. Turn it on again with soft on the usb device in the right USB port (soft in the folder PS3 / UPDATE / tu soft with the name PS3UPDAT.pup)
and install according to the instructions that will appear on the screene3 flasher

Hey I have the same problem with the console I have the 25XX Slim version and bricked with the hack on 4.82 and I read a forum post that I can fix it with a E3 Flasher if I put directly on the NOR chip and read the data so I did that and after it wasn't too straightforward the the guide ( https://www.nextgenupdate.com/forum...3-flasher-without-valid-bios-backup-dump.html )for me so can you guys help me with a step by step how to rebuild the data and fix my ps3? its sitting there for 3months. Please

I think this is what you are looking for.

Thank you very much for the guide, I checked the model nr on my console and it says CECH3001A series and the ps3dump checker is not compatible with those models, I tried to restore and its still not working, there is any new method which works with the 3000 series?
No idea what you are are talking about.
The method is the same for all NOR consoles such as 25xx & 3xxx which are not compatible with CFW.
And you can always use the pyps3patcher method instead of ps3dumpchecker anyway.

I'm just saying I did everything what was in the guide except the pyps3 patcher because I couldn't run the commands, also the ps3dump checker is still telling me the dump is bad I just have one error with the cISD1 Semistatic 2, and I have no idea how to fix that because I flashed on the console and its not working.

You should post in the Guide's thread & see with littlebalup whether you made a mistake or not in following the steps & how critical the error actually is.
