i believe that any improvements to the code would have to be made in the homebrews themselves. hen and cfw do not handle network traffic directly AFAIK.

using different homebrews can give different speeds. for example, webman is capped to go slower because it can run during gameplay and going to fast may cause problems (the game can not read its files because ftp is writing to the disk).
 
My PS3 keeps shutting down when I try to install/enable HEN from ps3xploit.me or when I use the enable HEN button on the home screen. It then starts to auto repair. I have installed HFW 4.89 twice. I have yet to try installing from Safe Mode. Any ideas?

I got it to work by plugging in a usb with blank boot_plugins.txt
now when I install pkg's, they don't show up on the xmb, but do show in Game Data Utility.
Any ideas?

yes hello i just made new account to just share my problem because whenever i install the cfw 48.9 and go to the browser and put **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) it no work so i saw a forum that i had to install it from a github i tried 55 times to not get a hen failure and i kept getting it its making me very mad so please tell me how to fix it and the error code was 80710102 in the browser probably i no know

The new domain for HEN is ps3xploit.me

Try enabling HEN from that domain.
 
ok i will try now you are a legend to me you made the webman mod you made my childhoof

also i forgot to say i have a hen that is corrupted i got off sktechy video and idk how to remove it

Also, clear your cookies, cache and viewing history. Go to ps3xploit.me and go to Hen options, click Hen installer/enabler, then press triangle, presss tools, press Home page, press use current page. Close the browser with circle and open the browser. Hit the first button, then the second one. As a safety measure, I put a USB on the right hand port with a blank boot_plugins.txt file at the root of the USB. This prevents your PS3 from crashing when pressing Enable Hen from the home screen. I think you can get around that by rebuilding the database, which should also fix pkgs not showing up after installing.

Installing Hen from ps3xploit.me should hopefully replace it.

Has anyone been able to get multiman working since hfw 4.89 on hen 3.1.1?? I know this is for problems with the new hen and 4.89hfw but since both are working on my ps3 slim 3001B the only problem I have is multiman wont work. Every time I try it completely kills my system. No red led or anything. Have to hit power twice to get it back on.... I'm lost without multiman as I couldn't ever get Irishman or any others to work properly on this ps3. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

If you're using webMAN MOD, set the fan control to manual or SYSCON.

Also try using the unofficial multiMAN for HEN.

It also helps if you disconnect all the USB devices before launch multiMAN, then add them back gradually. Sometimes a game with a bad file name or corrupted data can hang the system.
 
Fan controll set to manual, system overheats without it being at least 65% lol. Tried with no flash drives in USB. Also have tried mm 4.58/unofficial mm 4.84 and same thing.... Black screen then completely kills power to system. Have to hit button once to regain red led and power then a second time to boot up.

got PS3 4004a superslim, FW 4.88.
I have installed 4.88.1 HFW + HEN, but got similar problems with black screen.
I have tried many games copied into HDD, but every time got blackscreen. Opening multiman in normal mode also gives blackscreen, with L1 works.
Only way to reboot system is by hardreset it or by inserting disc into drive and opening-closig cover sequence - then it quits and brings back menu.

How is the compatibily with 4.89 ? should I upgrade ?

Hello to all,

I can't seem to install HFW 4.89.1 by littlebalup on my Superslim CECH-4002A via USB. I have tried several different USB drives, all formatted to Fat32 & MBR with the correct folder structure and pup file with MD5 matching. I am using an official dual shock controller, I have tried the start/select before unplugging the controller trick when searching usb media for the firmware update. I have tried not having the controller plugged in, I have tried to install HFW from the recovery menu as well, all to no avail. I have tried USB 3.0 drives, USB 2.0 drives, different gb size drives, all under 32gb, still to no avail. What am I doing wrong? Please help :)

can you install OFW 4.89?
any error codes given?
hve you tried both regular xmb update and recovery mode?

Thank you for the reply, my console is currently running 4.89 OFW and I have tried to update to HFW 4.98 via XMB and recovery mode

No error codes display, just the "no applicable data found" message despite having the folder structure correct, the drive as fat32/mbr with the pup file md5 hash checked :(

Windows may be hiding filename extentions. If you are not sure if the PUP file is named correctly, you can right-click on it and open its properties. The full name will be displayed there. Check that .pup is in the name only once. ps3updat.pup.pup will not work.

Remove any firmware version spoofs before installing a pup! They can cause install to fail.

Do not use USB hubs while installing firmware. Only plug in the USB device with the pup file and your controller.
