the alternate was updated for 4.90. it is linked from official site. the other two need new p3t for 4.90. i am waiting for full 4.90 support. lmn7's AutoHEN only supports 4.90 right now.

@Joonie @aldostools @esc0rtd3w or someone around, sorry to ping you but I want to talk about an issue going on on the new HFW or PS3HEN I'm still not sure what is the problem due to. I have noticed that all PS1 games in bin/cue format that need an anti-piracy patch won't work on PS3 models with the 4.90.1 HFW and latest HEN installed. I have tried Ape Escape, Spyro - Year of the dragon, Spyro 2 and Disney World Quest - Magical Racing tour; I Have tested both patched and unpatched versions but all of them get stucked and console freezes after the first loading phase (PS logo or first language selection). All those games worked on previous HFW and Hen so I wanted to know why now is impossible playing those games on HEN capable console. I tried also on Evilnat 4.90 CFW and they all work properly. Thanks in advice

Patched crash bash, 102 dalmatians puppies to the rescue, Disney tarzan, spyro 2, spyro year of the dragon ... always full ok until 4.89 , Freeze ps3 with hfw 4.90.1-hen 3.2.0...

I tried to uninstall webman, launching the games with managunz. Same issues.
It seems It's not webman fault.

I hope devs can find a way to fix, cause it is always a pleasure to play with This childhood games on ps3...

New edit: i tried to burn 102 dalmiatans (cue/bin) on a cd... The cd backup copy works perfectly.
The problem is only the cue/bin in devhdd0/psxiso

I really hope so cause there are a lot of PS1 games that made history and not being able to play it on a console that should read it by default is not so nice

That's impossible, libcrypt bypass has been introduced in hen 3.2.0, before that we cannot play those games without patching the game itself.

do you have the lsd files in your dev_hdd0/tmp/lsd folder

perhaps thier files are patched and the patch is causing problems?

you do not need psn patch. it may be the source of the freeze. try the empty boot_plugins.txt on usb trick.

Hen toolbox on hfw 4.89 with Hen 3.2.0 does not work, but with 3.1.1 works just fine.

PSN Patch has not been updated in years, but why would it be an issue now? By the way, I thought it was necessary to run PSN games (to authenticate .rap files or something like that), and it does not give me any option to uninstall.

I have been executing WebMan's pkg file with HEN enabled (holding R2) or with the file you said (both probably do the same), but it just opens a screen saying "Installing webMAN MOD FULL..." and back to the XMB. After doing it a few times, I was finally able to enable HEN without holding R2. I'm not religious but thank God I don't need to reset my system to factory settings. Too many games. I got another PS3 I have to update too and at least I'm already aware of that problem.

Still I don't understand why the "★ Package Manager" folder is not visible on the XMB by default (without enabling HEN). On the Internet there are several with the same problem as me. Also, if I hold L1+L2+R1+R2+L3+Down a "Debug Settings" menu should show up below "Network Settings", but it does not.

Replying to the patch problem, I have tested both versions patched and unpatched, both of thems don't work. I will check for those files LuanTeles told to find and see

In IRISMAN home press start button, go to video settings and from there you should be able to adjust your screen according to your TV

I opened the devhdd0/tmp/lsd folder , i saw all the lsd files...
I made some tests with spyro 2 UNPATCHED at this time... But it didn't work


SOLUTION TO VERIFY:
We need to rename the specific lsd file with the name of our saved .BIN file of the unpatched game.
So I renamed "SCES02104.lsd" to "Spyro 2 - Gateway To Glimmer (Europe).lsd" and now it seems there are no freeze issue and i can start the regular game!!!. But the libcrypt protection remains active, Because the first level you enter in "summer forest", the game goes in Black screen (spyro 2 libcrypt protection is still working!) . This also applies for other games.

(confirmed: Games already patched doesn't work anymore with new hen and freeze the ps3)

SOLUTIONS VERIFIED for people like me that own and always play the games already patched, we must cancell the specific lsd file of the game to avoid the freezes (already tested and this method it works)

EDIT: i tried other games unpatched as F1 2000 or FORMULA ONE 99, DISNEY TARZAN. For these games, libcrypt protection makes his duty and blocks the games at the start.
And the conclusion is : lsd files didn't work, libcrypt protection is still running

So I renamed "SCES02104.lsd" to "Spyro 2 - Gateway To Glimmer (Europe).lsd" and now works !!!

iirc, this is a feature of Cobra for quite some time now. On both PS3HEN and CFW.

Sounds like normal limitations of PS3HEN. Custom modifications are not done before you load PS3HEN, so it's expected that no features like the package manager are available. As for debug settings, some of its features are not possible on PS3HEN, so I wouldn't be surprised if this menu is not enabled.

Since 4.89 Sony changed the layout files making the old sprxs incompatible with the current layout, the package manager used to use explorer_plugin.sprx from the 4.84 DEX firmware (the last leaked dex firmware) without this sprx when entering the package manager the system stutters a lot and as we can't install custom signed packages without HEN enabled anyway so the solution was to hide it while hen is disabled and only show it when enabled thus solving these issues.

About the debug settings, you can only enable it after HEN is enabled

I have tested all day and the conclusion is that to play games without issues better delete all lsd files in the lsd folder and patch the single game that you want to play. Online there's a site that have all old patches used on ps1 games to burn discs, using them most of games that would't work before now are working great. The only one that actually worked only with lsd file is Spyro 2 unpatched (obiously I didn't test all lsd files). I have tried unpatched Crash Bash, Crash Team Racing and Spyro 2 with lsd files (1 out of 3 working effectly); so i'm still wondering why add patches that still are not working good after all. By the way I'm happy that I managed to solve this issue thank to @aleks1992 for testing and @LuanTeles for his hint

EDIT: I have copied the lsd folder to my PC because you never know if can help
