PS3HEN [Support Thread] PS3HEN Bugs, Problems, and Other Issues

I have just tested HEN 3.2.2. I can now toggle /app_home.

Unfortunately, the /app_home/ function does not work in Hen 3.2.2 The entry is displayed in the XMB, but the function is not given.

Functions must have been changed in the payload of HEN 3.2.1/3.2.2 , because everything worked in Hen <= 3.11.
You have to mount an iso with webman mod to check it. If you now go to the /app_home entry in the xmb, you should be able to start the game. This still does not work.

The problem wasn't adding the entries in the xmb, but that the entries in xmb no longer had any function. The same entries in HEN 3.1.1 are working.
One of the major changes in 3.2.0+ in payload was to mappath. Maybe @bguerville could chime in on the possibility of something in mappath causing reloadxmb to not work and/or app_home with wmm.

You could try compiling a test build with mappath.c from 3.1.1 to check if it fixes the issue reported with app_home.

However it would void all the improvements made by @bguerville and the recent fixes for PSP blacklisting when an UMD isn't mounted.

It's been a while since I worked on this stuff, I don't recall all the details and potential consequences BUT I do recall that there is code pertaining to app_home path handling in there (there must be a condition_apphome boolean variable in use).

This stuff hasn't really been tested AFAIK, especially as app_home was removed from XMB by default in HEN so it was never a priority in all the testing that we did, and there could always be an issue there.

Remember that my mappath code additions were never finalised for release, the improved feature was still in development when it got rolled out, the code is still experimental as far as I am concerned.

Do you have debug logs of the reported problem(s)?

Hello, I want to show the safe mode menu. Should I use the hdmi output only, because I have a broken one, and currently I only use the av output. Please reply, thank you.

So I updated to 4.90.1 HFW. Enabled HEN again. Then I download a game Assassins Creed Rogue. Put the game folder in GAME. But when I am launching the Game from XMB it says An error Occurred while start the Operation 80010017. This is not the case with this game only. All the games I have placed to the HDD after this Update it says same thing. But the existing games are running perfectly. Looking for assistance.

Thanks ins Advance.

We have talked about this actually a bit, but as Aldo said, it really comes down to the stackframe. There are really only 7 right now.

4.80 CEX
4.81 CEX
4.82 CEX
4.83 - 4.89 CEX
4.90 CEX

4.82 DEX
4.84 DEX

In was thinking we could put all the resources that are firmware specific into either packages or tarballs and just have hen download and install/extract appropriate one. We could store them locally for developer version, with increased filesize.

The differences are minor and are just the vsh and lv2 offsets.

I think it could be done in some way, but we would have to sit down and figure out the best way.

I'm all for it, as that's one reason I stopped making separate release, debug, and usb packages and just added the 5 different files to the modes folder now in a single package.
I've found a dongleless FSM but idk if it'll work on superslim?
Edit: File deleted by me just to avoid bricking other people's consoles.

That's why ps3xploit have a big red warning about installing CCAPI.

Just reinstall the HFW + Hen and you are good to go.

If you own a 12GB emmc nand super slim you are pretty much bricked, any other models can be recovered, if you can't access recovery mode just plug the HDD on your PC and format it.

I haven't tested the 3.2.2 but app_home works just fine on 3.2.1.

I can test it tonight and report if it's working in my end.

Just download it in a USB device formated in FAT32 MBR

The file must be named PS3UPDAT.PUP and in the following path X:/PS3/UPDATE

Note that X:/ = your drive letter, in other words create a folder named PS3 in the root of your USB device and inside this folder another one named UPDATE and then put the update file inside of it.

Did you test it with webman mod mounting an external iso? I only get the error 80028F14 when I click /app_home/game on xmb.
Edit: I have a superslim 12GB upgraded with internal HDD

I did it before but it didn't work for me
But I didn't create a file named X:
You added a PS3 file, a file named UPDATE
HFW file has been added

Does it work from wmm? When I tried, it didn't mount from wmm, but did from multiman. Also reloadxmb wasn't working for me with wmm.
