hi gents,

just found my old PSP, looks like there is 6.10 CFW installed, the question is, can I put something newer ?
I have to remove the rust off my PSP hack skills, still have Pandora battery at hand :) but just wondering if I can put something newer there if it is of any benefit ... thanks in advance !

I run dual firmware on my old PSP. You can upgrade directly to 6.61 which is the latest and last firmware. Everything has been ported from 6.60 to 6.61 nowadays. And you can add compatibility with 1.50 signed games/apps as well.

now I am confused …

No need to be confused. There is a way for a full CFW on your model but can be tricky. You can use a " L" firmware it is like PS3HEN it would need to be enabled if you power off the system. I suggest just putting it in rest mode it will stay enabled everytime.

I recommend you this interactive tutorial at Wololo: https://wololo.net/cfw4dummies/

Just pick the options that match with your PSP and follow the instructions. If you have any doubts, just reach out here.

Yeah their PSP guide is probably the best on any love website. May be able to use wayback but wololo is good. Some of their Vita stuff is still a bit dated as it has EML hack and Rejuvenate guides despite being obsolete for aomg time now. Dust seems to have settled much like the PSP did.

Indeed. Wololo is the only one decent site left, I believe.

I don't understand why you just don't use pro cfw. It works on any psp. All you have to do is run the enabler any time you shut down your psp. It's literally that simple.

even for TA-088v3 ? is 6.61 PRO available even like not permanent ?

Yes. There has been LCFW for 6.61 for some years, designed specially for non-CFW capable PSPs (later PSP 2000 models, PSP 3000, PSP Go and PSP Street).

LCFW acts the same as a CFW, just it is not permanent and needs to be activated on each boot of the console. Some people leave the PSP on sleep mode and never activates LCFW.

ok, to make it simple, is LCFW same as LME?

so can I use this?

http://www.mediafire.com/download/y0yzmy1iu3av541/release_661lme2.3.zip

or this ?

http://www.mediafire.com/download/6cz8ofj44a42wme/release_661me2.3_(OFW_Version).zip

right now I am on 6.20 PRO-B10 with my TA-088v3

thanks & sorry for being rusty on the psp :/

Yes, LME is a LCFW, just like LCFW PRO. Different versions made by different devs, each with its own special features, but sharing the same thing: abling to activate CFW on every PSP (albeit having to run the loader on each boot manually).

Here is a thread on Wololo's forums that discusses the differences between each LCFW: https://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?t=8402

In the end, it's a matter of your own tastes.
