PS2 [Testers Needed] MX4SIO - WIP SD Compatibility Thread

Is it normal that the game list does not load if I leave the device inserted before OPL starts? I am forced to remove and reinsert to get it to load the list, I am testing OPL_BDM_4.7.1 with a SanDisk 4gb, I tried Van Hellsing and MK Shaolin Monks and they worked.

Interesting...it should load automatically. There are some changes in the works to improve card compatibility further and they might inadvertently fix this. I'll @ you when the new builds released

Hello, good afternoon, today when I leave work and get home, I will be the procedure for the txt file to come out so I can send the file here and you can help me with my sandisk micro SD

I have tried the OPL BDM v 4.7.1 with the sandisk micro SD, it reads the games but when I run it, it gives me an error and a black screen appears, I wait for an answer when I pass the txt file with the error Thank you very much in advance

Thank you, would you be willing to try a new test build of OPL?

This test build contains a few changes to the way dummy writes are handled and should *hopefully* help with card compatibility: https://www.dropbox.com/s/p984yeatka8yaxo/OPL_BDM_CC_TEST.ELF?dl=0

To those with cards that already work with previous builds, you can ignore this.

@longsun_zhao could you give it a go with your Sony card?
@neo88 could you see if this fixes the need for reinserting on your SanDisk?

EDIT: This test build introduces a few regressions

Unfortunately, my Sony card still doesn't work with the CC Test. I reformatted it and everything, but no dice.

I've tried it and it does load the list automatically now, although not on every reboot, the older version was only able to load it automatically a couple of times. Now I put an LED on my device to help me refer to when the card is being read. then when the led lights immediately after it loads the list, otherwise I know something went wrong.

What's the LED doing when it fails to load automatically? Solid/blinking/no activity?

No activity in the led, I don't know what triggers the moments of instability, I did a test of 15 consecutive reboots and in all of them the list of games was loaded automatically.

Quick update, I may have a solution for cards that initialize fine but then fail in OPL. The way multi block reads are terminated deviates from spec. It seems the majority of cards that have this issue are SanDisk. Perhaps SanDisk cards adhere more to the specifications than other brands? I'm not sure.

Regardless, this test build includes the necessary changes: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ekhm82nui3ep53h/OPL_BDM_CC_TEST_V2.ELF?dl=0

microSD format: Exfat with 128Kb file allocations

Games tested:

cut scenes - very smooth, i didn't notice stutter or lag.
game play is buttery smooth also..

looking forward on more games compatibility..
