No, you will need a PC. I don't think any other option is there.

now I am on 4.82 and i never activated my ps3 i used ps3 proxy server and everything worked fine but the problem is if i press sign up it will ask me to update, what should i do
 
You should update this thread to now include that 4.81 OFW is no longer able to access the PS3ProxyServer, tried two different proxy programs, tons of different settings, reinstalled 3-4 different times, could always get onto the "Sign Up" section on PSN but would error out right after, as soon as I updated to 4.82 OFW via USB everything worked perfectly, made a new account, activated and good to go.
 
hi when i want to use the proxy server my internet connection is fail but when disconnect the proxy sever my internet connection is ok .
i want to active my account but no update to 4.83 whate i do .thans?
and how i can use the ps3 proxy sever list?

Put this proxy px1.thelatinshop.cf: 8080 on ps3 no PC is required, enable ps3 and remove the proxy to prevent you from being banned.

Somehow, this PS3 proxy guide needs to be reviewed, most of them don't really know how to setup properly, unclear guide explanation. Might gonna rewrite it soon.

This is a proxy that is being used only to activate the system ps3 is not necessary PC.just enter the proxy on ps3 activate ps3 then remove the proxy to avoid being banned. That's how I activated mine since my PC is damaged.

In all honesty it's pretty straight forward, there's only a half dozen steps or so, I had my ps3proxyserver running in less than 5 minutes.

- Download PS3ProxyServer
- Run PS3ProxyServer
- Find your PC's IP by going to Run --> CMD --> type ipconfig /all into the CMD window, you will want your IPv4 Address.
- Go to PS3, set up internet manually, leave everything as it was except for at "Use Proxy Server" go to "Yes" and it will give you an input for an IP Address (you put your PC's IP Address here you got in your CMD window) and use the same port as on PS3ProxyServer, 8080.

Start PS3ProxyServer, it will ask you to allow the connection through Windows Firewall, allow it. (Or disable your firewall, whatever you're okay with.) now it should work perfectly fine, the way to test is by doing an Internet Connection Test and it should say "PSN: Success" or whatever it says.

Remember that this now only works on 4.82 OFW as 4.81 OFW is no longer able to use PS3ProxyServer.

Did this to a tee and get ethernet cable not connected or error. This method still working?

Not 100% sure as I haven't tested it in about a week or so, never had an "ethernet cable" problem as the Proxy uses a wifi connection, so that's extremely odd.

Can you post details of your setup (screenshot of your pc screen with the info you're using for PS3Proxy) ofc you can edit out any personal/identifying information like IPs and such if you wish.

Also a screenshot, or just what you have under "Proxy Settings" for PS3 and what your connection status looks like, also make sure you have Media Server set to disabled.

Got it sorted thanks. Was doing everything right. Needed to ad new USA .txt and worked 1st try after. Thank you bud.

I have one very simple question - is this tutorial or PS3 Proxy Server work as today 22.01.2019 for OFW 4.82 ?
I really hope I will not be the first one to find this, hope I just did not do something right, although I really doubt it.
Today I decided to enable HAN on my 3.76 SuperSlim console and first updated to 4.81 as I read somewhere that it's recommended to stay on it if you can. So I updated to 4.81 and then I lost all day trying with PS3 Proxy Server GUI and PSProxy and nothing ..and nothing...and nothing until I finally read here that it's not working anymore for OFW 4.81...Sad but anyway.
So I updated to 4.82 hoping to just "click two times" and finally everything will be fine ... unfortunately there was no difference ... 80028ea6 whatever I do ... and "Internet Conection - Failed" just what I got all the day on 4.81...I've tried two different PC's (unfortunately they are both Win10) I've instaled DotNet Framework 1.1 even SP1, I've tried my router from home network as network, setup a mobile hotspot network,changing IP's at every try and still....nothing changes - 80028ea6 and "Internet Conection - Failed" ...
So is there anything I can do ? Or at least to try ? Or I'm just unlucky that I just had to find out that the proxy is no longer working for 4.82 too....?

There is a step missed in the video
1.go to open network and internet settings
2.change adapter options
3.right click WiFi choose properties
4.top right select sharing
5.left click on the White box to allow other network users to connection

This is only for those using WiFi to connect

Another thing to note is
That you have to find your IP address after sharing the internet as the IP address changes when the internet is shared

please i have literally done every step here and im still getting the 80028ea6 error, ive replace the files with new ones, used my pc ip and its still not working, what now?
