i want to start searching for method to install multiple packages for HAN consoles cause that function only work when QA Flag is enabled but when QA is disabled error code 8002AE32 will be displayed!
i see a post last year say that Install All Packages is a DEX function so why won't we install debug settings in HAN console and test that !?

i will test it & see ,i will post any good result i get

Edit : Install All PKG in USB root at once is possible now Check the thread that we continue our journey from

I know of no way to do this on OFW.

If you had load of packages, you could make them all into one big package that installs to dev_hdd0/game/ , so you could for example put 10 games in it, and then use a "force install to" package to install them all at once. That is the only way i can think of.

can you explain more exactly i have about more than 400 games in total but when i want to install 8 or 9games i have to put all their created PKG ,i split the pkg myself and then create them but how is the force install to ? where it is ?

You are splitting the packages into 4GB parts? well then my idea will not work , This was going to be 1 big pkg.

you mean one big package that have 8 games within it ?? you mean pkg with 9 NPXXX and then the ps3 install them all to dev_hdd0/game/ ?! right ?

Correct. You would need to use PKG Linker as it would be over 4GB I assume.

I don't know if it works on OFW, but in CFW pressing TRIANGLE on "install package files" or on "Standard Package Location" in Package Manager install all the packages on root of /dev_usb000

i will try to see where QA Flag effect so,we can create and externel patch like han enabler or debug pkg enabler
Well, this has already been discussed by bguerville, its not possible to QA flag with HAN. And even CFW requires QA flag for that option to work AFAIK. So you dont have much chance to do this.

If you was to research download bubbles, then there might be a way to que up a lot of pkgs in download management, by injecting fake bubbles onto the console. You will need to research that, i dont know much about it, i just know it is possible to create these. You would also need a custom ps3xploit to create the placeholder file that the bubbles download to, So its a lot of work.

Hope to find away in ofw to install all pkg like cfw by pressing Triangle?

Yes i know cause i test before ,when consoles is not QA Flaged it will show error 8002AE32 but when a user qa flag the ps3 ,reboots then go to package manager/standards and click triangle then Install All Packages it works but on OFW there is no way to enable QA Flag as it connect to some block in SYSCON

Edit : i test this function on Ferrox,Overflow and Rebug CEX Mode (not DEX)

So what if Install Packages files works when we use Debug Setting Installer then Swap Debug Settings ?! worth trying :dejection::confused3:

I think its been tried, but you should keep exploring, there is probably a way, in reality it must be a simple flag/patch somewhere, its not a massive function that will be heavily locked down I expect. So there is probably a way without QA flag in theory.

Yeah me too i don't think its a massive function so hope we can found the function to let us install all packages at once

That is a nice idea but how we can start to do this ? Did any one know how to do this (i mean steps)? To test it?

Well, I bet there is info on this available, some apps can create bubbles. Multiman I think.

But if i knew nothing, what i would do is get a real bubble on my system, find the files, dump them, examine them in hex, then try small mods, then try bigger mods, then try hacking the shit out if it :)

Then to create a new custom PS3xploit that can create a large place holder file, and get it perfect down to the byte, that would probably require a few years in college. I dont know :)

If you can do it, the bonus would be background download. Very cool feature.

The bubbles downloads are related with the .pdb files:
https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Project_Database_(PDB)
https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Talk:Project_Database_(PDB)

I always use to say the same... that wiki page is named "project database" as something speculative, but i think the official codename is "preinstall database"
There are actually other parts of the official firmware where it can be seen that name "preinstall" refered to this files

Are not protected, so i guess you could "forge" them... but in official firmware you need to imagine some kind of hack to make them available by network
The point is... the info needed to create this .pdb files is sent by the PSN server to the PS3... and this is what you need to "fake"

Or we fake them on PC and inject them, which might be easier. If an application like PKG linker could make bubbles based on a list of packages, then it could serve them up too.

Hmm, yes, i guess this could work, injecting them, then rebuild database (not sure if is needed to rebuild database though, maybe this ones are not indexed in it)

I was thinking mostly in patching some function (with ps3xploit team black magic arts) to allow the PS3 to connect to a server app in PC and automatize everything from PC

Well, once PKG linker is setup, it can update its own xmls via a pkg on its own list, (it already can do this now) . so its is possible to do it all remotely on pc, and then use a pkg (linked on the XMB) to update its pkg list, and install db files for injection.

The main issue is, we also need the PKG linker type app, to create and host custom ps3xploits and add those to XMB menu too, then those create the dummy place holder file the exact size of the pkg and also inject the db bubble info, this needs to be done, or else it will not work. If we could get the system to create the placeholder file itself it would be a lot better of course, and probably quicker.

Myself and @pink1 have talked about this method a few times as it adds background downloading which is a big feature, so we have kind of got half a plan but never started it :)
