@aldostools 1.47.30 is great, however I am still experiencing a problem that has been there for years. The "Lock PSN" option works great, however "Deleting CFW Syscalls" doesn't allow signing in again.

The problem is that once the CFW syscalls are disabled, webMAN cannot apply LV1/LV2 patches.

There are 2 methods of deleting CFW syscalls:
1- The safer method (enabled by default) is disabling all the CFW syscalls, including PS3MAPI
2- The 2nd method is letting PS3MAPI to stay enabled (syscall 8 looks disabled, but it isn't). This option is enabled in the section for combos (next to the combo to disable syscalls). With this option most of the features in webMAN MOD remain working, but it is not very safe.

To lock PSN at startup I recommend to use PSNpatch.

Perhaps you could make it so that when R2 + Triangle is pressed, PSN access is restored before deleting syscalls? If not, I understand.

@aldostools I'm sorry to sound really ungrateful, but would it be possible to make restore psn access work in-game as well? If there's some limitation that makes this impossible, don't worry. Just a suggestion.

I'm not sure if I understand what you are requesting, but the reason to block the PSN access in mainly to prevent a banning while you're using CFW syscalls. If webMAN restore the access it would open a breach.

If you need to do it anyway, I suggest you that create a custom combo with:
/browser.ps3$restore_servers

So today you fixed the problem of restoring PSN access when pressing R2 + Triangle... but I noticed that it doesn't work on the in-game XMB, only the "main" XMB. I was wondering if you could make it work for both?

Today I have updated the binaries with a new experiment using the screenshot of XMB

See the xmb.html part at the bottom of this thread:
https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/issues/385

It's very cool to open the browser on the PC or on the smartphone and be able to control the XMB remotely to install some packages or change some settings without having to turn on the TV..

This is an example of how it looks on the PC and on my smartphone:

We need a way to run a vnc server on the ps3...

I removed the check for XMB, so you can try it.

If I recall correctly, I added that check because some LV2 offsets changed when the game is loaded. But that was tested in 2014 and I don't recall the exact reason why I added that check.

@STLcardsWS Version 1.47.29 is now replaced by 1.47.30

@aldostools

When i saw that now we can play rco sounds i thought of making a rco with a background sound for the xmb, called by the init script

but i just checked now it is just for system_plugin? or can any other rco sound be called?

also

popup.ps3?<msg>&snd=<id> - show message with play sound alert (id=0-9)

can the msg call the texts inside the rcos? i was thinking about it, because many functions does not display any xmb on screen message, so i can add custom ones with multi language support.

and the possibility to call external audio files

In theory it should be possible to play the rco of other plugins. However, I couldn't get working the other rco sounds mentioned in psdevwiki. Currently it only plays the sounds in system_plugin.

I haven't tried to get the text from a rco. I suppose it should be possible calling a different function in vsh.

@aldostools would it be possible to add ManaGunZ cover support, or add an option for users to define a location for the covers?
Both options are already implemented.

The covers are searched in the following paths:
/dev_hdd0//game/BLES80608/USRDIR/covers
/dev_hdd0/tmp/game_repo/main/covers
/dev_hdd0//game/NPEA00374/USRDIR/covers
/dev_hdd0//game/MANAGUNZ0/USRDIR/covers
/dev_hdd0/GAMES/covers
/dev_hdd0/GAMEZ/covers

(The double // is used intentionally to search in hdd0 when the external gameDATA is enabled)

For custom locations the user can define it in COVERS_PATH of the language file.

I didn't know that. I just assumed that because setup.ps3 refers to multiMAN, that was the only supported cover format. Thanks for the info :).

iam using a ps3 slim cfw before this update i had 0 problems now after updating and refreshing xml the ps3 freezes ! i dont have any problems with managunz etc

Would be nice to have a disc swopping method not involving pc...

5 disc or Make a large Dvd ..i dnt know..

It may dumb, but...
Is there a way to check if Java script has been turned on while entering settings?

I have notice that after fresh installing webMAN MOD v1.47.30,
if I save settings while java script has been turned off -> reboot.
I will not receive notification what version of webMAN MOD that I'm using,
I will not be able to enter settings.

At least not with plugged in USB device.
