webMAN Classics Maker

PS3 webMan Classics Maker: Launch ISOs straight from XMB 3.0.0-beta3

I just tried it and seems that it installs fine. However, when I tried to open a game, it returnet back to XMB and gave me an error message. That simply says "Error [a path]". And that path is always wrong. Is there a way to fix it? Maybe renaming the folder? But how would I know to change to what?

It installs PS2ISOs as PS3 titles on the stock XMB, making it impossible to organize the games by format.

Use group by Album.

XMB uses the CATEGORY in PARAM.SFO to group games by format. As the ISO launcher is a PS3 homebrew, all the games will be categorized in that format.

What if you changed the category from HG Harddrive Game to 1P PS1 Game? Would that put the PSX titles into the correct folder?

how do you manually change the path? I want to direct it to /dev_ntfs0/PS3ISO/ but I don't see an option to do that

EDIT: OK, so I figured that out, but I get this error message and then it eventually times out.

ERROR when fetching 'Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe [BLUS30246].iso.ntfs[PS3ISO]', reason: OSError(10038, 'An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket', None, 10038, None)

Since this program doesn't work, is there another way to create shortcuts for PS3ISOs on an external NTFS drive so they show up on the XMB? I tried this also with ManaGunz and I get the error code 80029563 for everyone one I create.

EDIT: I worded that wrong. I don't want the PS3 games to be on the XMB, but I want shortcuts from the external hard drive and have them in the PS3 folder, like they are installed pkg games. I hope that makes better sense. Not on the XMB, but in the folder with the rest of the installed games.

What does this error mean? Does it mean that it's caught the ghey?

"ERROR when fetching '007 Legends [BLES01614].iso.ntfs[PS3ISO]', reason: OSError(10038, 'An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket', None, 10038, None)

I get so close. I'm trying to build pkgs one at a time. in the box in the corner it will let me edit all the info except the path. After I enter all the game's info the path reads /drive/system/[PROTOTYPE].iso instead of /dev_ntfs0/PS3ISO. How do I change this? It builds the pkg, but the path is wrong.

OK, so I took the folder structure from WebMan Classics Maker's work folder and edited it so the paths were correct and then created an installable pkg. The pkg installs fine and there's an icon for the game, but when I launch it, the screen turns black and returns to the xmb. I've attached it in case someone wants to look at it.

I'm so lost here. What am I supposed to do? my PS3 isos are on an NTFS external hdd in a folder named PS3ISO, but I can't get the app to locate them.

i converted my NTFS external drive to EXFAT and it seems to be working now; was getting the same errors you had

Hey @MrMario2011 would a tutorial vid on this be something you'd be interested in doing?

Seems like an interesting tool to play around with, could be fun.

Thanks for all the knowledge you share, it is always appreciated.

Hi,
I would like to use the webman classics maker,
but unfortunately, the program does not work for me.

I have trouble with connecting the program to my PS3.
I type in the PS3 IP-Adress (from the VHS Menu on my PS3),
but after pressing "Fetch" the connection attempt just times out after 8 seconds.
Then the console says
"Connection error: timed out
TIPS: Check your PS3 ip-address in webMan VSH menu (hold SELECT on the XMB)
"

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong
or if there is a problem with "webman classics maker" or my PS3 / my CFW.
I'm using the latest version of webman (webMAN 1.47.46e).
Is the classics maker maybe not compatible with this webman version yet?
I use LAN to connect my PC with the Internet, while my PS3 is wireless connected.
Could that somehow be problematic?

Thank you in advance!

Just made an account to say this is a sick tool. :adoration: Made some custom disc icons and they look really nice on the XMB. The included custom resources are cool too.
Was having some connection timeout issues at first but disabled my PC's firewall and that seemed to resolve.

webMAN Classics Maker v3.0.0-beta3 is out!

Here is a few of many fixes (among many):
  • removed python3 system call when running the exe
  • a whole lot of refactoring of some of the spaghetti code
  • image browser wasn't replacing the image resources
  • the gui didn't properly re-drawing during image swap
  • several bugs fixed for the manual pkg creation (i.e games not made from the ftp list)
