PS3HEN "Webman Games" in XMB disappeared suddenly. Tried uninstalling Webman Mod, reinstalled HFW and HEN.

I chose refresh my games and reload XMB options and after reboot Webman Games folder disappeared. Webman loads fine and I can access Webman Setup through VSH menu. I can load games via L2+R2. Fan control works. FTP works but Webman Games menu won't appear no matter what I tried.
There are several threads on internet about this and seems to be category_game.xml problem.

Anyone know how to fix this?

try to reinstall webman. if that doesnt work, try reinstalling hfw, hen, then webman.

Tried all those. Didn't help. Uninstalled and re-installed webman several times. Tried database rebuild and the other options. Reinstalled HFW and HEN several times.
I am kinda puzzled. It was just working fine and then after XMB refresh, it disappeared. But XMB refresh did freeze and required me to turn off manually tho. Do you think that messed up some files?

Have you done any kind of XMB modding?

Try manually deleting Webman mod and re-install it afterwards.

No XMB modding or anything. Pretty much stock except HEN and Webman Mod. I just liked to use it. Pressed refresh my games and reload XMB. But Reload XMB part froze at black screen. Waited for a bit and had to manually turn off. Afterwards this happened.

Thanks. I will try manually deleting it and installing again. Will report first thing in the morning.

reload xmb didnt work because hen doesnt have app_home on xmb (it can be added to catagory_game.xml).

if uninstalling webman and reinstalling does not help, try to access webman with the ps3 browser or your pc/smartphone. click on "games" then "refresh xml" (not html) and reboot ps3.

Since it disappeared after reload xmb freezed, why don't you try doing it again this time. There is a combo for it, :but select:+:but l3:+:but l1:+:but r1: = Refresh XML + Reload XMB.

Just don't forget to install the latest Reload_xmb pkg from Github before trying the combo.

reload xmb wont work on hen unless he adds app_home to his catagory_game.xml. he should refreash xml only and then do something to reload xmb (something like restart ps3, start then exit a game/app, click on remote play and then back out of it, etc)

According to aldostools on github, category_game.xml links to 2 xml files "dev_hdd0/xmlhost/game_plugin/fb.xml and /dev_hdd0/xmlhost/game_plugin/mygames.xml". But I don't see those games there and they are not created by XML refresh.
I tried using sMAN but it soft bricked my PS3. As soon as HEN is enabled, PS3 just freezes. Had to reinstall HFW and HEN.

I ended up formating my ps3 HDD after attempt to repair file system gave error and bricked my ps3. Had to format and start fresh again. Must have been some file system issue.

After format it is working as intended. Only had to lose some important saves of Jrpgs. Had some 120hrs of progress saved on Persona 5 :3.

Anyway thanks to everyone who replied.

You should have tried installing HFW from safe mode before deciding to format HDD. Reinstalling FW usually fixes bootup issues.

Also, backup your saves frequently using Apollo Save Tool, so you don't loose your game progress the next time when things go downhill.

In safe mode, choosing update system would freeze PS3. So it was not an option. Yeah should have backed up my saves before trying something. Lesson I tried to learn one too many times :3

Refreshing the XMB doesn't normally show up until after reboot or reload of xmb.
In cfw, prior to the reload xmb option, we had to restart.
The scanning of webman usually shows up with a blinking yellow/green light, and it can take a while sometimes.
the semi-limited functionality of HEN/HAN vs CFW is why I never switched over, as well as a few available features available on cfw. So i'm speaking off cfw experience.
Essentially you should have been able to reinstall hfw, and reHEN it at worst case scenario, which would bring back the lost xml's.

I also know that there is a toolset for hen than bgeurville (spelling might be wrong) and a few others worked on to also assist with other issues, and features that people have had success with. Might be worth looking into. It might have a few helpful tools, should you experience in the future.
