PS3 WebMAN MOD always freezes my PS3

Since I first used webMAN MOD on my PS3 Slim two years ago, it has been freezing it. I tried installing different versions, uninstalling them, removing their remaining files, changing their plugin memory usage settings, restoring the PS3 system, restoring the PS3's default settings, rebuilding the PS3's database and restoring the PS3's file system but it still freezes my PS3. I have Rebug 4.84.2 CEX installed.

Try reinstalling Rebug to remove any customization that could cause conflicts.

Uninstall webMAN MOD too.

Delete dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt to avoid load other conflicting plugins like sMAN.

Delete dev_hdd0/tmp/wm_config.bin and all wm* subdirectories if they exist.

Rename the folder GAMES, PS3ISO, ROMS, etc. in dev_hdd0 to prevent them be found in the initial startup.

Disconnect all USB devices before the installation.

Make sure that Cobra is enabled.

Install webMAN MOD. Follow the scrolling instructions if you need to install the full edition or the lite edition.

After installation go to http://127.0.0.1/setup.ps3 and disable the scan for content at start up. Reboot.

Add content folders gradually; add until you find the conflicting one.
Use SELECT+L3 to scan the content manually.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I've done all steps and I still have this problem.

One last test: try setting the system language and plugin language to English.

It that doesn't work either, maybe there is something different in your system environment or configuration.

Try uninstalling wMM, and using sMAN or webMAN vanilla.

I'm currently on Rebug 4.86.1 Lite and wMM works without issues. You could consider to update (loosing the ability to switch to DEX).

I still have this problem after changing the system language to english and on sMAN. I also have this problem with don't no plugins installed.

I don't want want to install that version since IIRC it's worse. Anyway, I also had this problem on a previous Rebug version. Maybe this is hardware-related?

Format your Ps3 completely and do a fresh install of everything. Just to make sure that the issue is not software related because there won't be any "other" files left to cause it.

My PS3 also freezes without webMAN MOD installed, although less, so it might be hardware-related.

@aldostools I've seen many people on hen with webman mod installed that can't connect to PSN even without any settings to block the access.

Do you know why? just today in a PS3 whatsapp group 3 guys are facing this problem, when webman is uninstalled it works.

They are on the latest version.

Are you using HEN? Do you have the problem? I cannot provide indirect support. I need to ask questions to find the cause.

Nah, i'm on CFW.

This is a common problem that I am seeing recently with some HEN users, I advised them to install an older version of the webman and it worked.

I'll ask them to make a thread or something for further information.

I'm on Evilnat 4.89, changed the PS3, reinstalled webMAN MOD and I still have this problem. I hacked the PS3 in 2018 and I was never able to use webMAN MOD without freezing my PS3.

EDIT: I changed the PS3's HDD, installed webMAN MOD's latest version and it no longer freezes my PS3. It's odd since I still had this issue after changing the PS3 (which obviously has another HDD than my former PS3) but stopped having it after changing the new PS3's HDD.

Same issue here. Evilnat 4.90

New formatted slim with CFW and webman freezes at game scan.

USB is in ntfs format and games are in iso. Games from multiman/irisman are working with no issues.

Reinstalling the CFW update worked for me.
My PS3 kept turning off due to an error which I think was caused by webman. After powering the PS3, the restore file system option comes up. After going through with the restore file system operation, webman is missing & stops working.
I tried to reinstalling webman multiple times to no avail.:apologetic:
Then I decided to reinstall the cfw and voila, it worked.:cheerful:
And kudos to all the developers who make these tools available to the public, much love
