PS2 what's your favorite version of OPL and why?

I just hope the OPL Team, or at least, people capable, somehow had the ability to come up with themes to make the aesthetic look more like the Legacy OPL while maintaining current features.

In fact, the OPL themes on this forum somehow looked dated. It sure need fresh uploads for the new themes.

I like 1.0 btw.
 
sure the program has come a long way. i remember the early versions had bugs & less features but 0.8 was where the it took off really good.
 
There is no simple answer because it mainly depends on a game or a device.
There is not OPL which is 100% compatible with all games.
If a game is compatible only with OPL 0.9.2, than I will have to this version not any other.

Additionally instead of OPL sometimes I have to use NHDDL + neutrino to play e.g. Splashdown or ATV Offroad Fury 4, etc.

If I have MMCE or MX4SIO I will have to use newer versions to play through this device.

When it comes to GUI, newer versions have more display options.
Also newer versions have more features like DS3\DS4 support, per game config, etc.

The plasma effect in earlier versions was cool indeed.
I wish one day we can switch fluently between Korium & Plasma.
or at least have an option to download OPL with these themes embedded: e.g. to download OPL 3000 Korium.ELF & OPL 3000 Plasma.ELF.

Hard to call Plasma a waving. Anyway, it wasn't deleted, it is still in newest builds, just under the Korium. User can make theme without bg images and will see Plasma.

Quasi XMB was removed in 0.8, last full release with it was 0.7.
 
How would you call plasma in simple worlds?
A blue color translation\transformation?

Anyway some of us when they see a lot of a blue color changing may think of the sea.
And since the sea waves...

I remember doing this a lot back in the day. i would have like multiple versions and test which works with which games and try to keep track.

I had like 3 or 4 PS2s sitting next to each other and just do all sorts of stuff with them: playing games, running linux from usb...
