PS2 Where to find up-to-date OPL compatibility lists?

Does anyone know where to find up-to-date OPL compatibility lists? I already went here but here's what I have to say:

Algol's OPL Game Compatibility List concerns OPL's 0.9.3 version which was released in 2016 so it's outdated and some of the games that work in that version may not work in the latest stable (and/or beta) version and vice-versa, the "comments" are mostly in french and I can't find in GitHub versions with "rev" in their names;

I can't access El_isra's compatibility and OPL-CL's compatibility lists;

PS2-Home OPL Game Compatibility List mentions some OPL versions that aren't mentioned in GitHub (those which start with "r" or end with "_db");

The last two compatibility lists are obsolete (even more than the other ones, I guess) and I can't access the last one.

Il y a trop de régressions dans les révisions d'OPL supérieures à la rev1419, je n'en fournirai pas d'autres.

Algol.

I was also looking for a compatibility list and have the same problem Algol's notes(no disrespect intended) are in French (Google Translate I Guess). It's a shame that sx.sytes is unaccessible right now it was in English and was IMHO just as good as Algol's list .

One shouldn't need to translate french or other language to english.

And was it for 1.1.0 or an older OPL version like Algol's? What about the other site that's also down?

Don't know about the other website but sx.sytes was the one website I referred to for compatibility after using free dvd boot on my SCPH 9000x , pretty much all the games that I have on my USB HDD have been setup after referring with sx.sytes and if proper instructions were followed there was no problem . Here is a recent capture of the website from archive.org , seems like the website was up atleast 2 months ago https://web.archive.org/web/20220217204825/http://sx.sytes.net/oplcl/games.aspx . BTW I don't remember which version of OPL the site was referring to , sorry about that . Hey if you find a decent list please let me know huh , I'll let you know if I come across a good compatibility list

Thanks. I use SMB so I want to find an up-to-date list for it.

I am planning to use SMB via a TPLink AC750 TL WR902AC Travel Router , how are you doing it ??? Are the transfer rates really better than usb??? also is it faster than using the dvd drive ??? do the stuttering FMV's really go away and do the games load faster ??? May I ask if you are using a USB HDD or thumb drive and does the USB HDD require an external power supply or is it able to run via only the usb port's power ???

The problem with compatibility lists for OPL is that new versions get released often that fixes things (sometimes breaks things, though that's rare), and there isn't a dedicated group to testing games on latest OPL release.
I do know that compatibility is very high and latest releases seem to fix long time problematic games so give it a try.

I don't use SMB via a router but an external HDD connected to my PC. My USB HDD doesn't require an external power supply. According to what I read, it's faster than USB but IIRC it's slower than CD/DVD (but I don't want to wear the PS2's laser so I didn't use it, anyway). I never tested USB, only SMB, and the few games I tested didn't stutter in the FMVs.

Do you know the differences between the latest stable version and the latest beta version? Does the latter contain features and is it more compatible than the former? Beta versions are often released.

Thanks for the help

But it's for the 0.9.3 version which was released in 2016 and the notes are in french.
Les notes ne sont pas toutes utiles, il faut se focaliser sur les colonnes qui n'en sont pas (des notes) ...
The notes are not all useful, you have to focus on the columns that are not (notes) ...

I already did so how are they not useful if they tell if the game works or not?

Let me clarify this.

OPL 0.9.3 was the stable version for a very long time, also most if not all regressions (regarding game compatibility) of this version compared to the previous ones, are well known/documented (also in Algol's compatibility list).

Now, about OPL subsequent revisions:

Ideally, game's compatibility shouldn't worsen (unfortunately it happens though), so if a game is given to work on OPL 0.9.3 it should also on any newer version.
Thus, you can play that game that's compatible with 0.9.3 and if everything is fine, good, if you exeperience some issues, you can report back on OPL gamebug report thread, letting developers know that something got broken (obviously other users will check the problem, making sure it isn't an issue on your end only).
Also, viceversa, you're free to try a game that's given problematic on 0.9.3 to verify if problems persist on new builds.

That's how it works, there isn't any h24 beta-testing team for trying all Ps2 games on each new OPL beta.
All of us that use OPL are somewhat "testing players" and considering we got it for free, I think it is the minimum we can do. See it as a team work.

Thanks. I find it odd most notes are in french. Do you know if the two sites that are down will come back?

On my reports, in Algol's list I writed notes in english, he said me it was ok, it makes the list more international. Perhaps, translating all the notes in english would be a good idea. It is up to the owner to decide.

You can read the changelogs in GitHub and also here, you can see for example that ZSO support have been improved on last beta.
If you're strictly referring to general game's compatibility, I'm not aware of any improvement (debugging of problematic games) since a long time. That said, some changes can indirectly solve/cause game's compatibility issues. For example there has recently been a report of Super Dragon Ball Z working again from internal HDD (it was broken since a long time) on a recent beta (i think it was 1603 [EDIT: it was OPNPS2LD-v1.1.0-Beta-1633-7959fea], I don't remember if it keeps working also on newer ones).

Have you tried this?

So, the latest stable version doesn't support ZSO? Is it a format like .RAR, .ZIP, and .7z and if so, would OPL be able to read ISOs inside it and would the games lag? How much does one gain in terms of space? Is there a ZSO compatibility list?

All the notws should be in english. Sorry, I didn't understand how some changes can indirectly cause/solve compatibility issues.

Anyway, I'm worried if I play some games that even though at the beginning they work fine, they may have issues some time later, especially towards the ending. That would be very annoying. I'm also worried about stuttering on FMVs or if the newer OPL releases broke something that worked before or if I should risk and try games that didn't work before them. It looks like I'll have to test each game from the beginning to the end, which will be a drag.

Do you know if I may have problems when playing games in OPL from an external HDD connected to the PC via SMB, i.e., if the external HDD or the PC may go to sleep or if there are some services running on the latter slowing it down, thus slowing game play?

Also, I don't get it why I was told to not use PS2-HOME's OPL versions but compatibility lists regarding them are mentioned here. This also goes for PS2-HOME's tutorials and other things.

Sorry, it was meant for NiamAlba.

EDIT: Just out of curiosity, are IDE HDDs more game compatible than SATA HDD ones and SSHDs and are SATA HDDs more game compatible than SATA SSDs?
