Hi guys,
I just wanted to replace thermal paste for both cpu and gpu. I removed the gpu's ihs lid easily but it couldn't do the same for the cpu. Now, my ps3 is only blinking red light. After some research, I think I completely destroyed my cpu but I just want to be ensure that if there is any repair for this. Thanks

Absolutely no it won't. Those copper bits you can see? Those are tiny traces and wires. A proper delid will have none of that visible. What did you use to attempt the delid on the cell?

Tldr: ding dong the witch is dead.

Sorry that this happened :(

Unfortunately, I thought so :apologetic:. I used knife first then, I used razor blade. I think razor is more proper for this process but you can easily damage it even with razor. Fortunately, I cut the jet sound :D

I loved my ps3 /:
What a shame :(

In case you ever think to try this again do more research. The correct tool needs to be extraordinarily thin and it needs to be done very carefully otherwise you will damage the cell. The real goal is to cut as far as way from the actual processor itself as you can.
