PS3 xRegistry editing

1. You can extract it either way, both of those will work.
2. Yes.

At this point you can do it both ways, choose whichever way is more convenient for you. If you go the pkg route, you need to enable debug packages before installing, that's it.

Ok, I'll try it. I'll see if it works with DMC 4 first. Then with shadow of the damned (it's an unreal engine game). To see if it actually won't work, as mentioned in the PSX-SCENE topic.

But firstly I'm going to update Han Toolbox.

It's kind of hard to see the refresh rate in a video recording of the screen. But I do know what you mean, 50hz is very disorienting compared to 60hz.

from 00:24 to 00:35 as I move the camera is very easy to notice the stutter looking at the fountain in the center of the screen.
At 60hz dmc 4 is smooth when moving the camera.

Not sure where this came from but I've played many Unreal games in both 50 & 60hz, seems like some BS myth to me. You can even mod the games to uncap the framerate, but that's another story.

I was hoping so :D

...Unfortunately I can't copy anything with the file copier :(

Please check if I'm doing something wrong.

I set the paths this way:

Source file path: /dev_hdd0/
(this is what I add) game/BLES00186/PARAM.SFO (maybe I need to put another "/" before "game"?)

Destination file path: /dev_usb000/ (the pendrive is inserted on the right port, is empty)

I tried enabling HAN (offline) but nothing changed. I Always get the message "inizialization failed"
Then I enabled the offline debug thing. And now I get the message "File copy failed!"

Exploit init failed is random, you're gonna get that sometimes. File copy failed means the paths are incorrect.

Destination path should be /dev_usb000/ - PARAM.SFO

You need to specify the actual file path, not just the directory.

Ok, thank you

Then the problem was so somple the other time too '^^
It worked first try but corrupted my pendrive. I'm trying again with the auto-reboot disable.

(I actually need to write as you do?? Leaving a space then adding a "-" leaving another space then adding the file's name?? I'm just entering PARAM.SFO).

What I have to do now?

I made a cutom pkg with your program. But I didn't change anything to the param.sfo, all options are greyed out

In the add field options I see "analog mode", and "resolution" I changed analog mode (leaving as default "0")

I managed to enable the resolution options on the sfo edit program. I've uncecked PAL resolutions.

Now I'm reading here: https://www.eurasia.nu/wiki/index.php/PS3_PARAM.SFO#ATTRIBUTE
for the flag thing.
I think I found the paragraph where it's explained (Attribute in Patches: RESOLUTION, SOUND_FORMAT, Remote Play). However there are values in little endian, big endian, decimal and binary. what number I have to actually enter into the program?

I go to add field > ATTRIBUTE, then I have two not editable options ("field type" and "size") and a line where I can enter a value (which is 33 by default).

Every game can be ran with either 60hz or 50hz, even BD games on OFW. There's a trick you can use to allow whatever resolution you want, it's not a very noob friendly process though. You have to create a fake game update, or if the game has a real update, even better.

Grab the PARAM.SFO from an update (or if the game doesn't have one, use the PARAM.SFO from the disc and change the CATEGORY value to GD) and use an editor to change the resolution to your preference. If you find the right editor you should notice you can change an ATTRIBUTE flag. Change this to "00 00 04 00". It's a flag that overrides the resolution values in the disk PARAM.SFO.

Yeah it's an annoying process but if you really want 60hz, it's very possible.

I can enter max 4 numbers. 0040 would be fine?

You're better off hex editing the files after using the tool to add the resolution patches. Upload the file here, I will hex edit it and re-upload it so you can compare the two to see what needs to be changed.

Ok great.
Please add a screenshot so I can see where you make the change. I'll do the same for the other games :D

The PARAM you're using doesn't have the right properties. I think you should extract the PARAM.SFO from the disc (/dev_bdvd/PS3_GAME/PARAM.SFO) and change the CATEGORY to GD, along with the resolution changes you made before. Upload that one here.

I forgot to modify the setting. If you already download it, delete it. I'm going to upload the correct one

EDIT: Now is the correct one (Yes this one is different, I can edit all settings without adding fields).

EDIT2!!!: Forgot to edit the category. Now I entered GD game.

I created a ZIP file containing the PARAM.SFO, image of changed bytes, and a PKG for you to install (DEBUG).

I've noticed there is a bug in the PARAM.SFO editor I have, when you add a new field, it resets all current fields to default except title and category, quite annoying. I'm not sure if its in all editors, I must check it out.

The one I have seems to not reset nothing.
