Awesome, I needed a nice GUI tool for zlib compression (since I work with that compression the most in certain games and I use a crappy GUI I coded myself). :)

One question though why is this in CFW Tools? I know some PS3 games use zlib but not a lot use it and if they do it's usually in some archive, unless the PS3 itself uses zlib compression?

Yeah, this GUI is nice, from all i could find in google this one is the best with difference, is the kind of thing that is very close to perfection. Before finding this GUI i was using simplyzip, but not anymore, simplyzip sucks in comparison with this GUI, lol

I uploaded it under PS3 section because there is not a general category, but zlib is frequently used in playstations consoles
In PS3 there are some files from the firmware using zlib compression... RCO, QRC, P3T, and others i dont remember right now

This might be the wrong thread for this discussion but do you know anything about EdgeZlib used in some PS3 games? I think there's some docs about it in the SDK but I don't have it on my PC. Do you know if any tools exist for this type of compression?

For games/apps sony recommends to use PSARC (PlayStation ARChive) that supports zlib and lzma iirc
I guess edgezlib could be a format propietary of some game company (not sony), but dunno
