Probably doesn't matter but @Evilnat can you add CECH-2501B to the tested models tab?

PS3 Disc backups via XMB without updates?

Understood. Sounds like wMM is still the best option. Now I would like to figure out if there's a way for its list to show custom titles, icons, etc rather than just some disc covers and the filename

PS3 Disc backups via XMB without updates?

I'm experimenting and trying to come up with a way to convert a disc-based game to an installable version, like CFW2OFW does, but in a way that works for games that have no updates. I understand that you can just mount an ISO via wMM, but wMM does not show ICON0, PIC1, SND0, etc. as the files...

The screw is tiny af, exactly what drill bit would I be using? We also thought of using a dremel but we don’t have one small enough to do the job without damaging the chassis or power supply enclosure. Can you elaborate? Are you suggesting I melt the screwdriver? Also if you’re suggesting I...

    PS3 66 CPU, 67 RSX, 49% fan

Everything I have tried, with help, has made it worse. We tried different bits, we tried different drivers, different sizes, I tried using loctite to glue a bit on which stripped it twice as much. As mentioned before I tried the rubber band method. I’ve tried all of these bits (pic below) and...

I did, it doesn’t grip. The grooves aren’t deep enough.

Sorry for the double post but I’m in a pickle. This screw is stripped. I’ve tried every bit that I have but nothing grips on. I’ve tried the rubber band trick too. The bit I started with is a perfect fit but the screw simply wouldn’t budge. It’s one of those two power supply screws. I was able...

Got any recommendations as far as paste? Also would liquid metal be most effective (and of course safe if used correctly)? Edit: Went out and got some XTM70 until I can order some Kryonaut :) will update with results after I’m done

Figured it out. Either Mamba doesn’t work with PS2 stuff or I did something wrong with wMM. Either way a webMAN reinstall fixed it. Btw, to add to the temp issue - this console has never been opened. Perhaps I should take a day to blow the dust out and repaste.

Just using wMM’s defaults right now. Also, might make another thread about it but for some reason I can’t play PS2 games. They mount as “Unsupported Data” and then when trying to run them it gives the “this model doesn’t support PlayStation 2 blah blah” message.

Are my temps good or bad? Currently playing Fallout 3, the temps fluctuate. Also is there a way I can graph it out instead to have a sort of history/log? It’s a CECH-2501B (for those who can’t see my forum signature).

PS3 Going online from a banned console?

I looked into webMAN MOD’s settings and did it there. Also discovered that I can mount my games, then disable syscalls and sign in :)

PS3 Going online from a banned console?

Cause I was an idiot. I did everything you're not supposed to do. Ran homebrew online, cheated, modded my profile comment, other things... At the time I couldn't find any guidance related to decreasing the odds of ban, so I didn't know about disabling CFW syscalls. I should have known better...

PS3 Going online from a banned console?

I got another IDPS and PSID, now I assume I use webMAN MOD to change it on my console? This won't cause any problems with disabling CFW syscalls right?
