Make sure USB is formatted to fat32 Make a folder on your USB called PS3 Inside the PS3 folder make another called UPDATE Copy your ps3updat.pup file into the UPDATE FOLDER Then try install it again personally I think you should wait for the new hen to be released

Have you tried a new hard drive Or try installing firmware via recovery menu before doing so I'd format the drive again. Aslong as your not worried about losing any save files or games. It worked for me in the past I've experienced these similar issues before

Put webman mod on your PS3 and use the update list method you will br able to go online using 4.88 and won't need to update ever again it's worked for me

Yes thank you I'm online with hfw 4.89 now can confirm it works. Anyone using this method should be warned you can get a possible ban you should be ok with syscals disabled use it at your own risk. Be sure to update to the latest hen and hfw once it becomes available this is a temporary solution
