XMB resource have nothing to do with recovery mode. At least they shouldn't. ;]

During work on XMBM+2K17 many times I broke XMB and reinstalling fw via recovery (until I discovered that background FTP server is more convenient ;p).

CECH models ?

did you tried holding the power button to shut it
...after 1st reboot , turn it off normally via controller & xmb

THEN hold power button until the console turn it off by itsel (dont let it go , HOLD the power and release it once the console shut it off

Then once again , HOLD power button (pass the 1st beep) until it give you the 2th beep (actually "Beep-Beep") and release the power button quickly
Now tell me you dont have access to the recovery mode....??

Yes, cech model.

What l mean is this: I turn on the PS3 and its freezed with green light. There's no way l can go recovery menu, I have tried multiple times. Just didnt try yet to remove the hdd and try to go to the recovery but idk. Only way to turn off the ps3 is to disconnect power cable.

unplug hdd, see if you get an error when you try to get into the xmb. the problem could be the hdd, though the emre_init.self is in the core os on the flash chips.
