PS3 4.86 OFW Released + 4.86 Custom Firmware / PS3HEN / Apps / Tools Updates

As of today 31/03/2020,$ony sneakily released another update for the PlayStation3, version 4.86 is now live, apparently is for CFW and HEN patching "needs to be tested", it could be also the more recent announcement of the messaging system shutdown.

If you are a CFW or HEN user, do not update, until a new writer is tested, stick with 4.85, it seems that PSN access is not mandatory to update to 4.86, managed to log in on my main OFW Console with 4.85 without any restrictions, although this needs testing, since $ony just released the update 10 minutes ago, PSN access may be restricted to 4.85 within a couple of hours.

PlayStation Website still displays the 4.85 Available for download, as usually this is $ony's trickery with newest update, instead of 4.85 you'll get a 4.86 in disguise, be careful for the users who wish to reinstall they're Firmware.

damnit. I shouldve seen this before updating, now i cant jailbreak my ps3. any way that i can downgrade?

"Or"? "Staying on top of it" would be days at least. Spoof with webman mod or proxy for now. HFW might not even be possible. Stay on 4.85.

I made this account a second ago, I'm new to the scene and jailbroke my PS3 TWO days ago. I was trying to upload a ps2 iso to my ps3 and it connected fine. Played perfectly. I tried to upload another and it wouldn't connect to the PS3 anymore. Slight salt, within 1 hour of each upload this update was released and i thought it was a bug. Now im curious, how tf can i connect online? I have 0 experience.

If you want to jailbreak you PS3 or any system you should NOT update, that´s basic stuff. I hope that you have learned your lesson...

Anyway, hopefully we will have good news tomorrow.

i cannot get the spoof to work to save my life lol. I've put the txt file on the root and loaded webMan 1.47.26 and it's still asking for an update . Running 4.85 Spy cobra

for those using HEN on your PS3, don't ever try to use SEN ENABLER to spoof your console or you risk bricking your ps3, i know because i learned the hard way.. still able to recover the console but not the hdd (had to reformat) so bye bye save files

please be patient and wait for the good news from the master in console hacking scene

hey dude, sorry for the dumb question, do i have to wipe my ps3 hd to do this install with the browser again? Or if you could refer me to a post that talks about updating to a new official firmware from a cfw, and how to reactivate the cfw. Im 4.85 and just got hit with the "You have to update", but i'm very new to this. Thank you for your time!

i just spoofed my account doing this and i went ONLINE AND PLAYED some BFH like 12 mins ago

Spoof PS3 :

• Have webMan installed and
• ps3-updatelist.txt in the root of /dev_hdd0/
• webMan redirect the file will let you login without update
• Enable HEN which itself will enable webMan so the method of ps3-updatelist take effect

**If you don't Enable HEN the ps3 will not see ps3-updatelist.txt in /dev_hdd0/ as webMan is not working to see that file but the ps3 will see the file in $ONY's Official server and see if version higher then the actual one if so it will tell you to update the system

See @DeViL303 post on his twitter the same file can be used

please let me know ASAP

Im still sticking with 4.84 i never left 4.84 hen will the old updatelist work for 4.86 on 4.84?
