I know @Joonie is busy with the ps4 stuff. he recently figured out a way to get the system to ignore firmware/sdk version without looking at the param.sfo. I don't know if it's a part of hen yet though. he may come back and make a rebug 4.87, but he may also be waiting on a dex build to get us up from 4.84 rex. I don't really have an answer for that, I guess.

I think that fix already exists? it was one of those generic mm pokes used for almost all backup managers. known as 8001003C fix in LV2?

But from what I recall, it never worked.. At least both mm and webMAN MOD can take care of that by modifying SFO on the fly IIRC.. But maybe there might be a way to fix that on VSH like how it's done on PS4's shellcore.
 
I've been staying on 4.85 for a while. But today I noticed that I couldn't access PS Store (haven't tried in a long while) without updating to 4.87.
I'm currently on OFW on that particular (legit, never exploited) system. But I'm planning to start using HEN later on.

1. Is 4.87 all the way compatible with HEN yet? (Seen artitcles/videos etc. saying ti is but them some of them acctually only refers to 4.86, so I wanted to ask from the source)

2. Do they still ban accounts left and right, or is it enough to logout from PSN account before enbaling HEN? Or should one never use PSN account (or create "burner" account) on a hacked system? I need to have the system activated and want to purchase some stuff before storefront closes.
(Last question not really related to 4.87 firmware but didn't wanna ask all over the place)

yeah, you have to update to use the psn store. that's what I did yesterday with my super slim. it was on 4.76.

1. pretty sure, yes. I think you can do the same stuff on 4.87 except some injectors like for xmb mods aren't updated yet afaik.
2. most likely, yes, they probably still ban. I'd use a fake account if I were you, especially if you have lots of purchases. I only bought a legit system, because I don't want to get banned if I make a mistake one day.
 
Thanks! Yeah I have thought about having one legit system for PSN/Online and some trophies (as long as thats possilbe) and hacked one for everything else. Maybe that's why I have kept from hacking this PS3 for so long.
Don't have many purchases but still wanna have one legit account to use across different systems. Seems easier.

yeah, the files that get you banned are in the user folder for the account that was signed in, so they'll only ban that one account and probably the system as well if caught. you should be good with a legit account on the system as long as you don't use hen or anything like that with it.
 
Looking for some help. I have Evilnat's 4.87.2 installed on a 20 Gig fat and am trying to install the 4.87 Dualboot, but every time I try to update at 60% I get the error "The data type is not supported. (80029C9C). If you can help thanks

turn off system update debug and try from usb. you can also try installing ferrox and then the dualboot pup.
 
Hi everyone, I installed FERROX 4.87 COBRA, I want to go online so I want to install LittleBalup's DB firmware, but for some reason MY PS3 doesn't see "Applicable update data" so I can't install it. I am stuck, i did everything right because I just installed FERROX, why is it not seeing the PS3UPDAT.PUP file?

try from recovery (safe mode).
 
Newbie here.
SO I started playing a game and went to the webman settings in my PC to watch the temperatures, while going to the IP's page my PS3 suddenly crashed and I had to enter the cable and the controller to activate it again. The select+start combo only works while I'm in XMB menu for some reason and heard other said it worked all the times. I use EVILNAT COBRA 4.87 cfw btw

Hello.

I havet installed EVILNAT COBRA 4.87 cfw.

But having some instability problem with it. When I try run games itcrach and reboot and ask for repair the system.

If I repair I get back to 4.87 HFW.

Are someone having this issue to?


I have install latest webman
