4.93 EVILNAT (Cobra 8.5)

PS3 4.93 Evilnat w/ Cobra v8.5 - (CEX/PEX/D-PEX) 4.93

I'm not really wanting to update but I'm having trouble going on to the playstation store. I'm log into psn but everytime I try to the store I keep getting log out. So I try all the fixes and last option would be to update it 4.91.

You can update to Evilnat's CFW 4.91, check if you can login to PSN.

If everything is OK, then it was a FW version issue.
If not, you can downgrade with QA flags + CFW 4.90 or whichever version that you like.

Also, you can try Littlebalup's DualBoot FW.

Hi, I'm currently trying to update from 4.90 to 4.91, both CEX. I'm using the exact same flash drive I've used in the past, FAT32, everything's still as it was when I've done it in the past, except now when I actually go to update from storage media in the PS3, it says no applicable update media was found. I'm dragging the file straight from downloads into the update folder on my flash drive, any ideas why this might be happening?

edit: never mind, I wasn't extracting the files lol, disregard
Make sure your not plugging a toaster into a ps3.lol sorry. You figured out the issue already so thought I'd make a joke

I recommend you that downgrade to 4.90 or wait for a new update from Evilnat.

I also have been having issues with 4.91 that have been solved recently, but these fixes are not public yet.

I'm having an issue with PS2 games not booting up when loading via the disc on my CHECHA01. It just freezes on a black screen.

Are you on a backwards ps3? If so you need to redownload the cfw. If I'm not mistaken I believe it was updated to fix this issue.
I don't have a physical disc to test this with,or a bc ps3 model, just going by what I Heard on this one

Oooh okay. I'll try that. I found it so weird. Yes, my PS3 is a CHECHA01.

Definitely get in on this. I kinda wish there was a way to do like the new firmware for psp ark though. Have it take over the system update Internet option to download and install. There probably is a way but I'm sure there's reasons why it wasn't done

Alright ive updated my flash drive with all the nessecary things i ever use :thumbs up:

I'm friends with Acid_Snake on discord, as I used to be one of his testers, but the ark updater redirects to one of his friends servers, which hosts the updates. You have to put the server in a txt or xml document from what I remember. Depending on availability, it can take a while for it to be updated. The problem with doing it on the ps3 is that it may prevent downgrading or using a firmware that's not evilnat. I suppose a toggle that requires a restart might work to enable or disable it though.

The server can easily be redirected for that with no downsides. I really don't know why no cfw has this feature

Thank you @Evilnat and @aldostools

I encountered issues while using DEX VSH to download several external files via webMAN Setup. The downloads that failed included the PS2 CONFIG Database, PS2 Classics Launcher, PSP Minis Launcher, PSP Remaster Launcher, PS3 Covers Pack, PSX & PS2 Cover Pack, RetroArch CE, multiMAN, IRISMAN, Movian M7, Apollo Save Tool, Arthemis GUI, UltimatecToolbox, and webMAN MOD Installer. All of them resulted in error 80710A06. Interestingly, after switching to CEX VSH, the downloads proceeded smoothly.

I just remembered upon re reading your ps3 4k pro mod which is a lovely mod btw luan where you seemed to do that using the ps3 update list text.i would download your mod again but I'm not sure if it'll conflict with my setup now which is evilnat webman mod and ultimate toolbox, with registory xml fix of course to refix the alphabetizing. Everything works fine but I'm unsure if adding your mod will be too much with it or break something

Thank you @Evilnat and @aldostools

Dex is mainly for dex signed stuff so that makes sense. By default if you use pex the xmb is switched to dex so you did the right thing in switching it on cex mode

Hey what does ps2 debug menu do?
It's supposed to debug to I believe get a smoother result. Feel free to try it. If you don't like the way it reacts you can always reset or change it

Yeah, I use webMAN for redirecting ps3-updatelist.txt. I could edit the vsh.self for that purpose, but I was avoiding it to save some MBs from the pkg size. However, I ended up including vsh.self's to fix layout issues and other stuff, which increased the pkg size by more than 180MB. (In the next updates i may redirect it via vsh.self)

Probably there won't be any conflicts, but, anyway, you can uninstall it if something goes wrong. The installer backs up all files before installation and restores them during the uninstallation process.

After the installation, only the ultimate toolbox won't be available. I made some integration with it, but I disabled it after S0ny's layout changes. I might add it back since I fixed the issues by patching the vsh.self.

according to @aldostools you do have to switch VSH to CEX in order to be able to download external files directly from webMAN, so I don't think that would work on DEX. See this thread: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/e...ownload-operation-80710a06.41823/#post-383247

I wasn't sure if your mod uses the same areas as ultimate toolbox or not. Webman and all I'm not too worried about as most things know to veer elsewhere. Unless of course it's utilizing webman features. I know both mods are super loaded though. Eh I'll give it a try and let ya know how it works

Which setting does it?
Unsure. I kinda was playing with all of them lol. Like I said though it won't break nothing. Just play around and find what you like. The debugging still new to me

PS3 Pro and Ultimate Toolbox share most of the mods between them. Some I've integrated, so if Ultimate Toolbox is installed, they'll show in my categories, but currently, it's disabled.

PM me if you want the latest Lite version or the Full one.
