PS3 Accesing Brewology via browser

Hey guys =)

I've been trying to install homebrew directly onto the ps3 via the browser but I always get that freaking SSL error :(

I tried everything to bypass it but not even when accessing it through the multiman's browser can I access it. I always get that error 800something (related to SSL)

Does anyone know if it's possible to enable access to homebrew pages using the browser?

Thank you very much =)

That section of brewology is designed for downloads from the PS3 Browser.
It has worked in the past but to be honest i have not tried from the PS3 browser in sometime.

Can anyone else test and see if they can access the Brewology homebrew store from the PS3.
(I cant test at the moment) If there is an issue i can let @monkeymaximus (brewology owner) know about it.

Thank you very much for your quick reply.

I'll be waiting then :)

Ok I did some research and discovered the issue lies on SSL certificates. On this community someone says on a thread that you should use http instead of Https and it resolves all issues with ssl. But the brewology site converts to Https even if I only type http :(

Don't know what else to try

I just tried accessing both store.brewology.com and brewology.com from the PS3 internet browser and on both attempts the page fails to load and I simply get a blank screen with the message: "The page cannot be displayed. (80710a06)". I was able to access multiple other sites, including this one, but it appears Brewology doesn't work on the PS3 web browser any longer. Then again, I always just downloaded the packages from my PC and then sent them to my PS3 via FTP. :)

Have the same exact problem with SSL.
Any way to solve SSL error?
Any homebrew for accessing homebrew store?..)

As well as brewology, psx-place is no longer accessible at all on the PS3 either. I wonder would it be possible to have just the main site also hosted on http, or something like that? I have solved the image issue on Whats New on psx-place mod by downloading the images manually and hosting them myself, but still the links no longer work so its kind of broken now.

What about inject new certificates on PS3?

Edit1: I'm not sure if it works on CFW:

There's only a problem with that: https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Online_Connections#Certificates.

"In latest firmwares (3.60 and later) Sony have started to hash their certificates with SHA-1 and these hashes are stored inside vsh.elf (/dev_flash/vsh/module/) and libssl.prx (/dev_flash/sys/external/)"

Aside from that, but more or less related. I've just been on Rebug REX 3.55 to do that test (I'm now on Rebug REX 4.21) and even though I replaced the certificates, the sites didn't open in the browser. And the PSN didn't even let me create an account or login without an error (different error from the browser, but both gave an error trying to access HTTPS - HTTP was fine). On newer FWs, it's necessary to replace the SHA-1 hashes on those 2 files, and other 2 things, which are not known, I think. I found one of them to be SSL certificate names, but I can't relate them to the PS3 certificates. And still, there's one check missing. But anyways, on 3.55 where I think it was not supposed to be any verification, it didn't work. The pages didn't open nor it let me go to the login/account creation page on XMB. I saw with a proxy server, not even an URL the PS3 requested. Just didn't work even before trying to connect. Weird.

EDIT: Btw, kozarovv found out the CA_LIST.cer has the wrong SHA-1 hash in the vsh.self (at least that one, libssl.sprx I don't know). And that certificate is not even on psdevwiki, so I've no idea when it started to be implemented. But if the hashes there are not of testing certificates before launching the firmware, and if that's the problem, then an older firmware (greater than 4.75, because psdevwiki doesn't say anything about CA_LIST.cer until 4.75 - then it stops saying anything) might have the right certificate, and after putting it on a newer firmware, it could put the websites loading again - IF that is the problem.

I know this is way late, but did anyone figure out what the issue was? I'd be happy to make server changes as needed
You could disable the HTTP enforcement, for example (so if I didn't type HTTPS, it would not force to HTTPS - security issue, maybe? Detect if it's not a PS3 and redirect to HTTPS, if that would work safely?), or use a certificate which the PS3 can recognize as trusted, like from VeriSign, GeoTrust or GlobalSign, I guess (there are more here: Online Connections - PS3 Developer wiki (psdevwiki.com)).

I'm not expert on these things, so I'll let anyone else be 100% sure of what to say, but at least on the HTTPS enforcement I'm sure, since it would work on HTTP and on HTTP everything is alright. On the certificates though I don't know if you need a specific date or whatever. But from those companies it should be fine because they're on the PS3 already. Maybe the one you used on the site is signed by some other company which the PS3 doesn't recognize?

EDIT: In a possible update of the PS3 Proxy Server for Android app, I might finally put there an HTTPS to HTTP converter. It shows PSX-Place really well! Brewology on the other hand gets a bit glitched and I think it wouldn't work very well. PSX-Place at least worked very well. But will take some time until I have time, sadly....
