Currently Using component cables on a 32" tvBetter use component cable, the image improvement is notable, then you can combine with GSM.
Edit: By the way, I recommend 29" or maximum 32" televisions.

Hw upscallers making image real. On CRT screen is a little blurry due to how they works and due to interlacing. Excluding few specific games examples which using some CRT tricks, image from nearest neighbour will always be far far more better than from bilinear etc. algos used by default, without any control in TV firmwares.
I never understand people which prefer blurry shit, some marketeers even using that for false advertising (like it was i.e in case of Heroes of Might & Magic III "HD" Remaster). And what is worst, majority of people from current generations thinking that old games looks so blurry on CRTs like on upscalled by FullHD/4K TVs are.
Just get your hands on component cables if your TV supports those (that's the one with blue and green plugs). You can do native 16:9 and even progressive scan. Hell, there's even a handful of games that run in 1080iIs there a way to get a less blurry picture on a modern tv without using hdmi converters?
