Anyone Can Help with XML edits?

That looks pretty good having it down there.

Also have you thought about move the clock face down there with it, i know it looks like a pile of crap but it is an important detail as its animated when the PS3 is loading or during an operation and is a dead give away if the PS3 has got stuck in a loading loop or is under load so you don't accidentally add to it with another task that may cause the system to crash.

Its quite simple, when you have CCAPI installed, open the vsh menu with R3 + L1, then scroll down to them theme menu and use the "Move Menu" options and each time you press x on each option the corresponding X and Y values are displayed for a few seconds in the bottom right hand side on the xmb showing you the new position eg " x= 150 y= 70 ". When experimenting with making a new XMB layout I moved some things to some very strange places lol. I haven't messed about with it in a while lol.

I have thought about doing this but never got around to trying it out. I was thinking display it either under the clock or beside it just out of the rectangle for it.
Whats the name of your theme, looks good.

Custom.........lol, though some of my system icons have gone walkies again lol, recycle bin, network, my computer and stuff were all custom icons but they have been reset again lol.

EDIT: If you look for the folder PSDK3v2 you can see one of them, a folder with a PS3 console in it.

I think yre mistaking me here it's a PS3 Theme in the attachment

@sandungas Took me ages but i managed it in the end xD moved the clock UI from the top right all the way to the bottom left, but i had to use pre-set override coordinates that were already in the layout grid txt file because it seems when i tried using custom ones i put in, it didn't like that.View attachment 15062
Just gotta figure out how to make it revert to normal when it goes 720p or below.
Your theme also looks dope, where can I get it? Have you made it yourself?

What i dont get is why in your screenshot it tells X = 150, Y = -70

It will display the new position one after the other in order so if you did what i did here and rapidly press the the x button to move it into place then they will come up one after the other fter each press of the x button long after you have got it into place as there is a bit of a delay in displaying them. I just took the screenshot to show how and where it displays them.

I would but I re-writ the clock to be the fox on the right and to animate when the ps3 loads something

That's better than the daft spinning clock lol. Would you mind sending a pm with a link to the rco or just the xml would do, wouldn't mind seeing how you did it, plus it would go a long way in my research into various xmb mods and changing the xmb layout completely. I have moved stuff all over the place but this is one thing I have not looked into yet and is a very good bit of xml coding.

Nice, i never thought of moving it, i will try to move it as the same positions as PS4 dashboard

Yeap, Now i'm really excited to update it, and user proper XMB Layouts.

@dazzaXx after u finish it, please send me a copy =P

Hey, stop nicking my ideas lol......:-p

plus it would go a long way in my research into various xmb mods and changing the xmb layout completely

Only joking, I don't want to use the PS4's layout, I have something else in mind for the XMB layout.....

Just be prepared for things to disappear when you get the xml wrong... I learned that when I made half of the XMB vanish lol. The clock was the only thing I didn't experiment with, plus a few other things.

Look forward to seeing the updated version of your mod.... the only downside I have with it is the glitch with CCAPI when in DEX that cause's the PS3 to behave like it has a damaged or no BD Drive and black screens everything on launch. Other than that its a good bit of work.

Will do :P just gotta figure out why it refuses to load custom set overrides

EDIT: From what i can tell, i think $ony have set some soft of limit of how many overrides can be there in the grid table because anything after line 4595 doesn't load even though the specified hex is correct.

Have you tryed to change the unknown value of the second group of the overrides ? (0 or 1)
And what you used with this value in your edits that are working.... 0 or 1 ?

Edit:
Hmmm. also, just incase, im thinking in something that could be "breaking" your experiments when you added custom values in the xmb layouts

The point is... if you add (lets say) 17 lines in one of the files for a specific resolution (lets say you are working in 1080)... then i guess you should try to add another 17 lines in all the other xmb layouts

Is just to make all them with the same number of lines.... to dont confuse the PS3 firmware
Maybe the PS3 firmware is scanning all them and limits the number of loaded lines to the smaller file
Dunno, but worths a try
