PS3 [BG Toolset] User Issues and Dump Submissions

Hi, I'm having issues similar to few users around here. Cannot install any OFW/HFW/CFW and patch on bgtoolset only seems to take 6 or 7 seconds to apply.
The phat Ps3 I'm working was used for HEN at some point.
Also I can only dump the flash memory before patching. After applying the patch it gives me an error.

PS3 Model: CECH-A01
Firmware Version: 4.85
Firmware Type: OFW CEX or HFW CEX (I cannot tell)
IDPS Is Masked: Yes
Have Original Dump: yes [REMOVED]
Have Patched Dump: No
Dump 2 URL:
System Boots To XMB: Yes
System Boots To Recovery: Yes
Firmware Version Displayed In Recovery: States FW 2.50 and then ask for ffff.ffff file
Minimum Firmware Version Displayed In Toolset: 1.0
Mounted Devices: None
Disc In Drive: No

If there is any more info you need, let me know.
Thanks for all your work
6 or 7 seconds is the average time it takes to apply the patch to a NAND console, it's perfectly normal. The same process takes about 1mn30 or something on NOR.

I am going to assume that you got this problem last month & are trying to solve it now because the issue you experienced was fixed over 4 weeks ago in the 1.0.22 update..

However, there is something missing in your report, to be able to give you further instructions, we need a dump made after the last patching attempt so you will need to boot your ps3 to XMB, load the Toolset 1.0.22, just make a new NAND dump, nothing more, mask its IDPS then post it here in this thread.
esc0rtd3w will look at it & send you a PM with instructions to fix your console.

The dump I posted was done post-patch.
So my bad. I don't have the original dump (sorry about that).
And thanks for your help

Nope.
That is only to mask the idps on screen so people can post screenshots.

To mask the idps in your dumps you should use either a hex editor or a little executable utility which you can get a link for in OP.

Ah right, thanks!
You should edit your report post & replace the link to the dump with another to a properly masked one, if ever the idps is not masked in it because you would have just made your idps public.

As you are new here, if ever you cannot manage to edit, let me know, I can do it for you, I would remove the link & you can always make a new post to provide us with a masked idps dump..

I removed the file from mediafire, I was not able to edit that post.
So it should be fine now anyways, I believe. Thanks

That's fine too. It wasn't out there for long so I wouldn't worry too much..
Use the utility from OP to mask the idps as we talked & post us the output whenever you are ready.

Ok.
@esc0rtd3w will inspect it whenever he becomes available, he will send you a PM with strict instructions to follow in coming hours. He is reliability incarnated that way I/we can never thank him enough for it.

As to your current problem, don't fret, by tomorrow, if you follow his instructions to the letter, you will be gaming on a CFW console. And in the future, you will never have that issue again with the Toolset.

Good luck with your future endeavours.
Regards.

PM Sent.

Please follow the link and run patch one time. When success, reboot to recovery and the version should again say 4.85. From there install 4.86 or 4.85 Rebug Lite CFW.

I would also enable QA Flag in Rebug Toolbox after you get CFW installed

Update is running in safe mode. Everything seems to be going well. I'll do what you suggested.
Thanks for everything. You guys are really awesome!
Cheers!

Ok, please stop doing that lol

How many times you ran it?

My original question was NOT answered either?

What day did you first run it?

Does it show ffff.ffff in recovery when trying to install firmware?

Last month when the toolset came out, first a normal flash writer and then a NAND fix. After that it didn't work and then I installed HEN and it didn't work, but it shows it as if it was installed.
Yes, it shows me ffff.ffff in recovery.
