Button swapping?

Yeah I have a pair of those Mayflash Gamecube adapters that attach to the wiimote. It allows me to use my Wavebird on Gamecube games and Wii games that support classic controller. Works well. When I bought them 6 months ago they were only like $20 for the pair on Amazon.

Mayflash is awesome it has allowed me to use pretty much any controller on any console. I have a 4 port sharing device and have my steering wheel hooked up to 4 consoles + pc all at once and can switch to any with one hit of a button lol. It was meant to only work for Xbox 360 ad PC so most of the other consoles I had to buy Mayflash Magic NS adapters to make them work. Again they're only like $20-$25 each. I also have a Mayflash Magic NS on Wii U that lets me use my Dualshock 3 wireless and it works on Gamecube and with Hidtovpad to work as the gamepad so I can use it on Wii U games + N64 + DS + others. I'm surprised they don't charge like $50 or more for their adapters but I'm glad they don't.

I actually have a mayflash adapter for my pc for the pro controller. getting it to work without it caused problems for my other bluetooth devices. this works 100% and very easily. it needed an update for windows 10, but I have a copy of it in case I need to reinstall it. I also have these:

it's the entire collection of character gc controllers for smash. are you using your wavebird (also have one) on a wii or a wii u? I'm doing all my stuff on a wii u.

Oh I'm all Wii U, upgraded from Wii years ago. I have the menu full of 291 games whatever it is that wont allow you to put another game full of injects and Wii U games, all of my games are on the main menu. It's fun using my steering wheel on Mario Kart 8 and F-Zero GX and F-Zero AX. For MK8 I use the Hidtovpad Network Client so I don't have to hook it up to my Wii U to play, but it's too bad Nintendont doesn't allow the Network Client. But I just got the F-Zeros working on my PC using Dolphin and also Mario Kart Arcade. But even though I have a Switch I love my Wii U. I'm kind of a console hoarder I have almost all of them up to date lol (except Vita which I sold) but not planning to get a PS5 for a few years.

Damn that's a lot of Smash controllers lol.

Sure does, even on injects using TeconMoon's Wii VC Injector. That adapter you buy makes your Gamecube controller mimick a Wii Classic Controller so it works on all Gamecube games and all Wii games that support classic controller.

I only use one and if you're interested I could sell you the other it's open out of the box but I never used it, $15 shipped. I could even list it on Ebay for you if you have any concerns about me ripping you off or anything. I have a long standing Ebay account for decades 100% feedback.

I don't want you to think I'm just trying to sell you something I'm not I don't really care, just giving you options. But I've never used those black ones just the white one so I can't say how well they work but the white one I have works great.

I think I see where they were going with that button remapping. B is where Y would be on the pro controller. A is slightly in the wrong place, but it should still work well.

I played mega man 4 on the wii u through nintendont with the changed controls. I took to it almost instantly. here's me playing part 5 on the retron 3 hd. I'm using the actual cartridge:

I can almost get no black bars with it. I get none with gc mega man 4 and none with retroarch on the nes classic/mini.

edit: I take that back. there's one black bar on the left side of the screen. the nes mini does that too and so does the vc game on the wii u even though it's letter boxed. it must be an issue with the way the nes works. it's not like that in the legacy collection on the switch or the ps4.

here's mm 6 on the nes classic/mini: the menu is full screen, but the game has that odd black bar to the left. as I said, it happens in the vc on the wii u as well even though it's already in 4x3. I think it's just part of the game image.

@NoSoul81 , here's the wily wars through retroarch. I didn't realize it at first, but the game is on the American version of the console despite being a European only release. I saw a history on why the game exists and on a console that's not Nintendo. pretty neat stuff. anyway, I don't know how, but I put the game on the system without retroarch, and it wouldn't run. the European version said it was the wrong region. anyway, it runs with retroarch. I had to get a cheapo cover for it without genesis being on it. I could add that if necessary. it works with the right buttons:

we have success with your adapter. I had to take off the protective case. I thought my wavebird might not work, but it works perfectly. the swapped buttons with anniversary collection now feel natural. B is fire and A is jump.
