As you know, Alexanderss, member and developer of the PS3 scene released a few days ago his new Ferrox Custom Firmware incorporating COBRA 7.55 functions.
I have updated my installer which will allow you to install these COBRA 7.55 functions on your console in CFW 4.82 Rebug LITE only.
The installer of course includes a restore function to return to COBRA 7.54 if necessary.
Thanks to Alexanderss, Joonie, Aldo and all contributors of the COBRA payload.

Do not try to install this payload on another firmware than the Rebug 4.82 LITE on pain of brick!

@xiaoyang Thank you, very convenient release!

How did you make it?
1- Did you compile stage2.bin using Joonie's Cobra 7.54 src with the addition of "_DEL_" to mappath.c and version changed to 7.55?
2- Did you use stage2.bin taken directly from 4.82 Ferrox Cobra 1.01?
3- Did you compile stage2.bin using Alexander's Cobra 7.55 src and hashes from Joonie's src?
4- Did you use stage2.bin (7.54) taken from 4.82 Rebug LITE and patched it as 7.55 using the method that I suggested to bitsbubba?
(i.e. hex editing stage2.bin and replacing "ASIA0" with "_DEL_")

I am the author and I have made it with alexanderss stage2.bin 7.55 available on his github and tested it with teensy in my hand because i was scared by hash ;)

Thanks for your reply. If you just compiled Alexander's src without any changes, then you in practice followed option 2. I would have preferred the option 1 or 3 due the hashes.

Yes 1 and 3 are more secure but I'm not a professionnal just a beginner I haven't modify source code just test if it work and implement in my installer.

If it doesn't brick it's good no? Or it will cause other issue?

This is the stage2 cobra 755, compiled directly from the REBUG sources. So both ASIA0 and _DEL_ are included. The hashes are those that use the Rebug Team.

@Red-j It should not be brick, but it could cause a malfunction on Rebug, so we recommend using their own hashes.

^^ That's precisely the reason why I asked... The system files in Rebug LITE have different patches to the ones in FERROX, therefore the hashes are different. Although they will not brick, functions like PSX, PSP and PS2 emulation will cause errors or not work as expected.

@xiaoyang Please repack the installer with the stage2 provided by Alexander...

@bitsbubba FYI

If it's compiled from rebug source where is the prob bro?
you misunderstand, the one @Alexander has posted above is from Rebug source and the one you included in your installer is from Ferrox source. Two different FWs with different patches, it could cause system functions to not work properly. We're asking that you take the stage2.bin that is posted above and put that in your installer and re- release it

Currently source code of Cobra on Joonie's git is 7.54. Alexander's source code is 7.55.

Alexander reported a bug in Cobra 7.53 that prevented the installation of PKG with the syscalls disabled. I fixed the error in the homebrew blocker of Cobra 7.54 and Joonie included the fix in Rebug LITE 4.82.1. Few days later Alexander discovered that the fix was partial, and he added a similar fix for the error that appears when the PKG is deleted with the syscalls disabled.

The main difference between the 2 repositories (apart of the hashes) is just the following line in mappath.c of stage2:
Code:
!strncmp(gameid, "_DEL_", 5) || // Fix data corruption if you uninstall game/game update/homebrew with syscall disabled # Alexander's

Done here

Hello ! I compiled the joonie Cobra version with Alexander's patch and I enabled
the updater payload in the latest Rebug toolbox for fw 4.82 and Cobra 7.54
Works perfectly at home if you want to test

Guys you can use FERROX stage 2 too.
The hashes difference is in algorithm for rebug made because static hashes give static hash even for dex and cex vsh
The hashes would be same for FERROX and rebug
I prefer hashes of FERROX because they are more static compared to rebug. No need to use the hashes used in rebug lite. The difference is very minimal though
