PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

Thanks @lex3a! I am particularly interested in the Mystic Heroes config. Not sure what the 0x1D config command does, but it seems like it is only used once in gxemu and not for Mystic Heroes but for Sonic Riders (only PAL version).

what this config fix?i am playing it now and didn't notice any issue .

It patches some code. It's an overlay patch. I don't know what does this do exactly but I recommend you to play with this config.

Though I wonder why they patched it witn an overlay command when you can use 0x09 or 0x0A command. I guess someone was to lazy to write original opcodes :)
Nevermind, I see now why, it will overwrite the label.

Thank you for decrypting and verifying these configs.
What program tool you used to decrypt them ?

Yes on ps4 work fine but something witch sound little glitch but game is ok.
Yes, but im use KOF2000 emu, sometime that emu fix sound problems in games, and also have ps4 pro version, boost mode make game run more good! So i not have any sound problems in that game on my ps4. Also if u have euro version u can use fix for sound problem!

On compatibility wiki it says it freezes on Phil Cassidy's missions, so like i said i'll just leave both official configs here just in case someone wants them.
The official european psn release also freezes there. I bought it years ago and never beat the game because of this :/
They just sold it without testing it lmao

I think i figured out 0x4B command thanks to configs posted by @lex3a . So Command 0x4B is indeed used to redirect save data folder. Not pretty useful even with HEN, but since we got info..

First thing we should know is that commands 0x4B will most likely appear at least in pair. So there always will be 0x4B at least two times, this isn't requirements, but without this command is kinda pointless.
Code:
4B 00 00 00 A8 5B 13 00 03 00 00 00 4E 50 4A 44
30 30 30 35 37 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 4B 00 00 00
10 5D 13 00 FF FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

"Start redirect" command.
  • 4B 00 00 00 = Command
  • A8 5B 13 00 = EE memory offset
  • 03 00 00 00 = Known configs have always 03, seems to be "index", and represent how many words (4 bytes * x) will be read as ID. Emu panic above 03.
  • 4E 50 4A 44 30 30 30 35 37 00 00 00 = in big endian ascii NPJD00057, folder ID in save data we want to read from.
  • 00 00 00 00 = unknown, always 00 in known configs.

"End redirect" command.
  • 4B 00 00 00 = Command
  • 10 5D 13 00 = EE memory offset
  • FF FF FF FF = Special case used to return to original ID save folder.
  • 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 = in big endian ascii, unused with "End redirect", or not required to be filled.
  • 00 00 00 00 = unknown, always 00 in known configs.

So above combination of configs will redirect save data folder to NPJD00057 if game is running 0x135BA8 offset, and keep it redirected unless 0x135D10 is hit by game.
I confirmed that on real game, that 0x135BA8 is address where game try to read data of first game, and that 0x135D10 is offset where it finish that read, successfully, or not.

Yup. Luckily i already owned it on ps2, i bought in on ps3 because i didn't have liberty city stories, they were 2,50€ each and i thought it would be nice to continue playing VCS on ps3.. not only i found out you can't import memory card saves on ps2 classics officially (i thought i could use the ps3 memory card adapter) but both games were unplayable

The ps3 has alot of potential with ps2 emulation, the homebrew community really showed how good it can be. Meanwhile sony keeps selling broken ps2 games :pig:

The official european psn release also freezes there. I bought it years ago and never beat the game because of this :/
They just sold it without testing it lmao
2 days ago i started a new game (but without config) and i managed to pass all Phil Cassidy missions without freeze, maybe it depends on luck or something... (mine is also european version)

It's good to know it doesn't always happen, i got frustrated back then because it freezed every time. Since then, i moved to the psp version on a ps vita tv so i never tried making a custom ps2 pkg
