Fixes all HUD artifacting/graphical corruption due to incorrect alpha effects. This problem is the same as Alpine Racer 3 (same developer) to a lesser degree, but was harder to find with no debug symbols left in the game. This fix looks reminiscent of old PCSX2 versions:

After:

A couple of notes:
- Red colored circle in upper left corner displays as a square on top instead of inside (same as before)
- Teal colored meter in upper left corner will not display regardless of if you have it available or not (same as before).
- Button meters in upper right hand corner display as just green when recharging. This doesn't affect gameplay decisions as green = unusable anyways.

These issues are because the effects are disabled, but since the effects don't render properly anyways it is a better trade-off. It may be possible to get the effects rendered correctly but idk. This is the most solid fix that we can get.

I remember importing that game back in the day because I enjoyed Sword of the Berserk and wanted to play it on my modchipped PS2. It's pretty good. Already have it on my CFW PS3 with English Patch I'll be applying this config. Thanks.

This doesn't bother me really but I'm just telling you because you might want to know it seems he twitches every once in awhile while moving like his sword will move involuntarily like a twitch. I can't remember though if the original game was like that or not.

My phone doesn't make the best videos but this is the best I could do.

I just realized I just started using a Dualshock 4 with a mayflash magic ns adapter. But I played a few games with it last night and didn't have anything like that so idk.

Looks like something similar to Shadow Hearts 2/3 analog bugs.

@mrjaredbeta can mk shaolin monks be fixed?i Don't u have ever given a answer.
I don't know the answer. o_O

I've looked into the game before but not that closely. I can always look into it again when I have more time available.

damn, Shadow Hearts. that's a game I haven't heard of for a while. the group responsible for the series disbanded, which is why there's no more in the series. it's many times better than Final Fantasy or what Final Fantasy has become imo. the series is amazing, especially parts 2 and 3.

Agree and most people weren't aware of these games. I thought 1 and 2 were the best 3 was ok, but I don't think they were popular enough to warrant a game on PS3, PS4, PS5 unfortunately.

Or put it this way 3 had the best gameplay of the 3 no doubt, but storywise 1 and 2 were better.

I remember either Joachim or the Indian from part 3 having those ridiculous weapons like one was a giant fish. it was always entertaining to see his next weapon.

btw, @NoSoul , I think Koudelka on the ps1 is considered the first game in the series. I haven't played it. iirc, it's four discs too, so it must be pretty big. it was released in the US (maybe Europe, but I'm not sure) under that name.

It was also released in Europe indeed, I still have it never got around to completing it though, I remember I got stuck somewhere in the first or second disk but my memory card is long gone lol. Might give it another go when I have more time

wasn't the main character's name Yuki? I think that's the name in shadow hearts 1 and 2 (think 3 has a different person). I think he's in Koudelka iirc, though like I mentioned, I haven't played the game.

His name is Yuri. And no he wasn't in Koudelka (although Koudelka herself appears in the first Shadow Hearts game). Also, despite being 4 disks, Koudelka is a pretty short game (I beat it in around 12 hours).

that sounds about right. that was my second guess as to the character's name. I liked how you got to go to the Grand Canyon and the Vatican or even break Al Capone out of jail. I don't think I beat any of the Shadow Hearts games, but I got to the final stage in part 2 I believe. it's probably far better than the shit that is sure to be Final Fantasy XVI.

Same here I got to 2nd disc and never got further. It's not really a good game to play or look at but I wanted to play through for the story and to beat all in the Shadow Hearts series. If I still want to do that I will have to use an emulator and rom and start from the beginning.

I think the only reason it was 4 discs was all of the cutscenes.
