PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

@AuroNPL Here's what you can try for now:

Use this memory card: https://www.mediafire.com/file/or4xuu01k0cgicr/VP2.VM2/file

Use this config:
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 07 00 00 00 08 00 00 00
01 00 00 00 48 98 2B 00 0B 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
28 09 10 00 0A 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 53 4C 55 53
2D 32 31 34 35 32

Game starts at the beginning of Chapter 4 without any infection to the save file. Config is the gxemu config that doesn't disable any effects or speed fixes. Game should work in Chapter 5, but slowdowns throughout. You will only have to play around 20 mins to get to Chapter 5 (I did it myself yesterday, but only with the config that doesn't work). If game doesn't work in Chapter 5, the game is fully incompatible with any config. If it does work, then it is technically fixable with a better config that what is current.

PCSX2 crash too, you know why?

You have save file early chapter 3, because two character (Leone and Arngrim) missed item to level 40 then chapter 4.

Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy in Itadaki Street Special (SLPM-65797)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 49 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Fixes board spaces not showing up. It seems PCSX2 did/still has(?) problem with this.
Really interesting config then. Pcsx2 have this patched currently, so it work.
But real issue was similar to Pride FC, and Galerians Ash. Im curious that this config gonna work for any of them.

@kozarovv, is the 0x4D similar to the 0x49? The wiki says so.
Yes, both configs call the same functions. But with slightly different params.

0x49 call it with func(11,0,0)
0x4D call it with func(12,param,0) where param is supplied in config.
Proper 0x4D config is 4D 00 00 00 FF FF FF FF where FF FF FF FF is some unknown value for that second field.
There is a sleep before config is applied to make sure that "something" is zero. So most likely to check that some transfer finished, etc.

Both configs set something related to SPE4/5 threads. So BE/FE where i suspected FE thread being floats related. But at the same time it seems to have some connection to GS.
Here is description from pcsx2 patch btw.

Code:
// Game seems to have problems with alpha values being zero in some instances
// this patches the results from FPU to be an alpha of 2
// Fixes missing board

Game Valkyrie Profile 2 is protection piracy.
Lol, the game will not be able to detect that no matter how intricate the protection is. It is either: a.) another problem with the save game from GameFAQs (low probability) or b.) the game thinks the emulator is using cheats and/or knows something is wrong and messes up the save file (higher probability). VP2 may never be compatible after all...

Hi People. :)

I am trying to get SRS: Street Racing Syndicate USA/NTSC (SLUS_205.82) working properly as it says it is compatible/playable (In green, meaning no issues) on the wiki page, but it seems that it might be an error as I'm having issues.

There are two versions of this game (v1.03) & (v2.00): I verified both tof their md5 checksum to make sure they matched the redump database.

I tried both versions of the game with the latest PS2Config Database v1.01 found @ the brew ology store.

I even tried getting the config files from the aldo tools database.

Conclusion:

v2.00: Has issues and freezes right upon the first SRS captions screen and never moves beyond that point.

v1.03: Gets passed the SRS captions screen and DOESN'T freeze but the intro movie audio is skipping and there are some graphical glitches on the menu.

Was the .CONFIG file made for 1 or both versions? I'm not sure here.

Anyone else have these issues or know how to get v2.00 working or even so, v1.03 without all the glitches?
Here's my Setup: PS3 Slim 2001A on Rebug 4.86.1 LE.

Thanks.

I have found not a lot of testing went into the compatibly list. Tried a few games that were like this.

@Spec2K Sony made that config for v1.03 only it seems. It uses a custom hook that only affects a certain memory address on v1.03, while the needed address for v2.00 is 16 bytes away. Long story short: it is fixable...I think. I am not sure about the graphic bug on the main menu, though.

Thanks for the reply @mrjaredbeta
Would be awesome if someone fixed it. It's a shame that this game is buggy.

You can send me SLUS files from both versions in the private message. How does the graphical bug look like? If it is not a game breaker, I would say it is a low priority thing. Does the videos stuttering happen during the gameplay too (I mean, the video stuttering will affect every video being played. The question is does the game use them later in-game)?
