PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

Same here I got to 2nd disc and never got further. It's not really a good game to play or look at but I wanted to play through for the story and to beat all in the Shadow Hearts series. If I still want to do that I will have to use an emulator and rom and start from the beginning.

I think the only reason it was 4 discs was all of the cutscenes.
The reason it's not a good game to play is because it was meant to be a horror game, but the developers wanted to make an rpg. So they tried to merge the two with poor results.

This doesn't bother me really but I'm just telling you because you might want to know it seems he twitches every once in awhile while moving like his sword will move involuntarily like a twitch. I can't remember though if the original game was like that or not.

My phone doesn't make the best videos but this is the best I could do.

I just realized I just started using a Dualshock 4 with a mayflash magic ns adapter. But I played a few games with it last night and didn't have anything like that so idk.
I think i have same problem but while gameplay its not so noticeble

Fixes all HUD artifacting/graphical corruption due to incorrect alpha effects. This problem is the same as Alpine Racer 3 (same developer) to a lesser degree, but was harder to find with no debug symbols left in the game. This fix looks reminiscent of old PCSX2 versions:

A couple of notes:
- Red colored circle in upper left corner displays as a square on top instead of inside (same as before)
- Teal colored meter in upper left corner will not display regardless of if you have it available or not (same as before).
- Button meters in upper right hand corner display as just green when recharging. This doesn't affect gameplay decisions as green = unusable anyways.

These issues are because the effects are disabled, but since the effects don't render properly anyways it is a better trade-off. It may be possible to get the effects rendered correctly but idk. This is the most solid fix that we can get.
Record gameplay from my ps3! Sorry for low quality at start video, better watch after 3.30 min! Game looks good! Character have twitches while run but its not noticeble so much while fight!

Removed the 0x42 code the netemu has got problems with executing. Patches are now handled by the 0x0A patching function instead, which is more reliable than all the earlier efforts. Definitely, this one gets rid of the GameGuard forever.

what problems game have before fix?

Primarily slowdown in areas. Removing the shadows fixes the slowdown, but you need to disable the intricate cheat protection the game has or else it will freeze/corrupt save. The config does both to fix all of the slowdown.

good, maybe someone have that fix for us version? Want try undub version!

Today I installed GTA3 and noticed the game is really laggy especially when driving, it's been years since I played this game on a PS2 so I don't really remember how it played, but is it this laggy on official hardware? I tried both official PSN and Converted ISO with latest config

For some reason this game's configs use the command 0x21 set to 1 value instead of 0, maybe to prevent some freeze in some mission or something, however, changing it to 0 it will get rid of all possible lags (it will still lag when your character run or walk pass an vehicle with smoke coming out from the engine)
I'm gonna send you both NET configs to you with value set to 0 to you try them out.

For some reason they added the 1 parameter instead of the 0 in the official config. The zero parameter definitely does increase the cyclerate or something like that as @mrjaredbeta wrote earlier this thread. It needs proper testing as the netemu does react unexpectedly to it, for example the console could shut down itself.

Thanks, I'll test that config as soon as I can and report back if I find any bugs :)

I tried the config you posted @MadSaint1998 it does seem to be a lot better but the frame drops when there's any smoke make the game almost unplayable if you're driving a damaged car, I'll keep testing to see if that's the only issue. Another question, whenever possible I try to play the NTSC (60hz) version of a game because of the higher framerates, but would I have more stable frame rates if I play the PAL (50hz) version? (I have a European PS3 if that makes any difference)

NTSC 60hz is almost always the right choice to play, 50hz is only good when the NTSC has glitches that the PAL version dosen't have, for example some games like Resident Evil 4, Driven to destruction etc... will stutter while playing the pal versions.
I'm gonna send you now an config to you try out, drive around the city with the damaged car smoking from the engine and then tell me the results, on my gta 3 PAL V1.60 it really did better, but remember if the character run or walk pass the smoke it will lag a little
Also the credits goes to @mrjaredbeta for finding this 0x21 command speedhack :)
