PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

The game Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction got recently dumped by someone, maybe this game has an interesting NET config with some fixes.

I tested this game once again and it got a freeze in the tenth round after a punch landed on my face. The game is hanging up, because the controller could never stop vibrating itself.

I have checked the WRC 4 with two 0x09 commands too and it worked without a hitch!

The PAL version of the Haunting Ground works without a problem if using the 50 Hz mode, according to the wiki.

So mean it have random freeze right? My controller not vibrating by the way!

About Haunting Ground, yes on 50 Hz mode, but its have selector 50/60 Hz mode! if set 60 Hz, lags in cutscenes!

I think it is a random freeze. Have you noticed any specific conditions? Like a punch or something. Maybe it is good to check the 0x21/0x41/0x46 commands.

About the Haunting Ground, I have not looked into the hook yet. But there is a one byte difference between the NTSC-U/C and NTSC-J configs, so it may be not too hard to port.

well i dont know boxing very good:flustered:. Probably that freeze only in "Play Now" mode? That game have knockout QTE, if u on ground u need press X button fast, maybe freeze can be about this who knows...

Code:
3D 00 00 00 11 11 00 00 0B 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
13 07 00 00 C4 05 00 00 04 00 00 00 0C 00 04 38
0C 00 04 3E 21 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 41 00 00 00
46 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Maybe this would help. I did not get a freeze during the knockout so it must be something different - poorly coding of a launch title.

i will try later, hope u also try port Haunting Ground!

Started to port to PAL version, but PS3 shutdowns at first cutscene. I probably did something wrong (either wrong addresses or a single byte error), but I'm not really willing to sit and try to figure it out for hours. @Agrippa, you can take over this if you like.

If you explain me what this hook is doing, maybe I can look into it. But I see an error in your config, instead of:
Code:
3C D9 0A 0C 00 00 00 00 30 00 40 04 00 00 00 00
It should be:
Code:
4C FC 0C 0C 00 00 00 00 30 00 40 04 00 00 00 00

If the 0x0A's opcode is correct.

Great! That at least fixed the crash, but I must have done something else wrong as the voices are still lagging. I honestly haven't looked into it much myself, but it seems like some frame skip implementation for the cutscenes to keep the visuals at full speed.

I tested the Knockout Kings 2001 once again with that config, and it does freeze still. The freezes are random and I do not know how to fix them. I classify this game as an "unplayable" one.
Well Knockout Kings 2001 is not type of game but still sadly that is still freeze, ok maybe someday someone fix it!

you work with eu 60 Hz right? Hope you able fix it, that will be hot:tranquillity:

I'm playing Killer 7 as I had progress from several years ago and already had a crash which is mentioned in the compatibility list, can someone prevent those?

But I have another issue. I am using a Dualshock 4 with a Mayflash adapter and I can't enter the sub menu to equip items. I assumed it's because of the Dualshock 4 but I also have an official Dualshock 3 and made it player 1, and I couldn't hit start on it either. Could anyone try if they have that game? I've looked it up and it says in several places start is supposed to enter the menu where you can equip items.

Edit: it seems I have to just press it very hard for some reason regardless if Dualshock 4 or 3 and it works. But would still love crashes to be fixed if possible. thanks

Port of the @kozarovv's NTSC config of the PSI-Rockin's patch. Only the SLES-50128 was tested.
Don't bother with that game, this is hardware quirk that was revealed by PSI few months ago, is something that can't be fixed from config.

Original patch indeed worked, but that was mistake. Here is more about proper fix: https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/commit/435b7dcd2bdd5461e00f9f591a573bec159a9d42

Looks like i have a job))

I have done some quick tests (first cutscene) on Trapt with the official NET config. 0x49 seems to fix the graphical/texture bugs in the cutscene. I am not sure 0x46 has any impact on the speed. For 0x48, the cutscene exhibits some very slight "stuttering" or "stopping" effect (difficult to describe) when the camera is in motion. Without the command, minor jitter in a couple spots of the cutscene (either lots of characters in frame or blur effect) BUT full speed cutscene/gameplay otherwise. The game uses separate voice files instead of a single streamed format, so $ony got away with using 0x48. If game didn't do this, cutscenes would become desynced like the DDS or Raidou PS2 Classics. Still, it's only on the conservative preset, but game is still maybe 5% slower than normal:

Trapt (SLUS-21255) [CUSTOM]
Code:
3D 00 00 00 2C 43 00 00 46 00 00 00 49 00 00 00
00 00 00 00
This removes the VSYNC delay setting. I would rather play without the setting enabled as I like the full speed gameplay, but to each their own.
