PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

With latest cobra you can use decrypted config.

PS2 Netemu can now use decrypted CONFIG, place the game config file in the same game path for ex)
dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/GOW.ISO
dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/GOW.ISO.CONFIG

I have Rogero 4.46 Cobra 7.0 and i wanna stay on this CFW :)
Until now i did the following steps:
- create a new empyt file in HEX Editor.
- copy the values into this new file (just for example 3D 00 00 00 1B 43 00 00 4A 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 in case of Baldurs Gate)
- save the file (CONFIG.DEC)
- open Ps2 Classic Gui
- encrypt the CONFIG.DEC for create a CONFIG file.
- Copy both files to the Ps2 Classic right place next to the encrypted iso (with Ps2 classic manager)
- Launch Ps2 placeholder
- I got black screen

I tried the other method too:
- create a new empyt file in HEX Editor.
- copy the values into this new file (just for example 3D 00 00 00 1B 43 00 00 4A 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 in case of Baldurs Gate)
- save the file (CONFIG.DEC)
- copy the PS2 iso into the internal Ps3 HDD PS2ISO folder
- i placed the CONFIG.DEC into this folder next to the iso
- rename the config to baldur.iso.config. (so i have BALDUR.ISO and BALDUR.ISO.CONFIG)
- run the iso from multiman
- the games runs but the background textures are the same: glitchy.
What did i wrong?
Can you look at the config file what i created and uploaded above?
 
Your config file is fine @chicco33
First 4 bytes (3D 00 00 00) is to specify the emulator version required... next 4 bytes is that version of the emu (1B 43 00 00)... and this value means is required at least firmware 4.50 to run it (otherway the cofig file is not valid), you are in 4.46 so it should work for you
And then the next 8 bytes (4A 00 00 00 00 00 00 00) are working like a switch... you are enabling that feature triggered by 0x4A

Is that simple in this case... if you want to do other experiments take a look at the list mysis made here

So i cant help you much... im just replying to say the file is ok and a basic explain of how it works

Decrypted config look ok, no idea about encrypted. But using 4.46 you need to be aware that compatibility can be lowered.
[OT]Also there is no single reason to stay on 4.46[EOT]
 
Ohh wait, my mistake... i just explained (without noticing) why is not working for you XD
Is because your firmware version (of more exactly the version of the emulator)

Note in the config file it tells is required emulator version 0x431B (after swapped bytes)... if you convert that value to decimal this is 17179.... and this is the emulator version included in firmware 4.50

You are in 4.46... so the config file is ignored

Oh, maybe you are right :) Can you make a config file for me with the proper CFW settings?
 
Btw... you could try to update the emulator (replacing it by the emulator version that came with firmware 4.81)
Not sure if this should work though... but technically this is what is stopping the config file to work

Is not posible... the emulator only acepts config commands up to a number
And the command baldurs gate needs is 0x4A (is one of the most newer commands implemented in the emulator)

The emulator from firmware 4.46 only acepts commands up to 0x48 (bigger ones will be ignored)

Oh i see now. How can I replace, update the ps2 emulator? where can i find the newest version?
@kozarovv it was NTSC. I can upload the config file if you needed.
 
You could try this:
3D 00 00 00 91 42 00 00 4A 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

I only changed what is marked in bold... is the version of the emulator required (emu version 17041... for 4.45 firmware)
I dont think is going to work but worth the try i guess, is easy to try it

With your cfw on new emulator you will lost wireless connection for your game pads. Also you need to resign it, and I'm not sure it will work at all. Just update cfw.. Or try config posted by @sandungas

Cool, post decrypted if you can, as there are 2 configs on devwiki. I think you use unofficial one, but I'm not sure.
 
Anyway, can anyone try the Baldurs Gate config file if it works or not? :) You just need to start the game and you can see if the background is ok and not glitchy:)

But unfortunetly the Summoner 2 is freeze after the intro.

I hope you can fix it and make a config file for Star Ocean 3, Radiata Stories and Valkyrie 2. It would be awesome :) Keep up the great work mysis!
