PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

Config for Dynasty Warriors 3 (probably also for XL):

Code:
00000000 3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 35 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 =...WD..5.......

FYI @sandungas
This is first config that use Force Flip Field setting to fix black screen.

Just for curiosity sake... how you imagined that command could fix the black screen ?
It was just luck by playing lottery, or there is some rule that could be used to know if is a good idea to try the same in other black screen games ?

Can someone explain how gxemu command 0x0 (a.k.a. netemu 0x1) works ?
So... the first value is an offset of an .elf (needed to check in ps2dis or something like that)... and second value is an identifyer of a function inside the .elf ?
With the first value there is no problem at the time of exporting configs from gxemu out to convert to config files for netemu... because the value is literally the same in both (just endianess swapped, in gxemu the values are in big endian btw)
But to get the second value it seems it cant be made a direct conversion :/ because in gxemu it looks like is identifyed with a long hexcode, but in the config files is just a short id (like function 1... or function 2... etc..)
It works this way im telling or im brainstorming too much ?

Thanks to menu found by @3141card you can easy test it. So if any game black screen, and PS menu is still able to show, then you can try enable Force Flip Field. Easy, but require game for test.

52E868 ???????? <--- same value in CONFIG file ---> offset in game elf file
034068 ???????? <--- converted to 2, wtf ? ---> Offset in gx_emu where TRUE command/function is.

Problem with "Offset in gx_emu where TRUE command/function is." is that you don't get command number/label there, but raw emulator function in PPC. In netemu exist kind of table with 0x1 commands, in gxemu not ,or I missed it. To be honest I didn't messed with this too long.

How can I make proper config then? Until your nickname isn't mysis, you can only compare functions in disassembler to translate functions between gx, and net emu. But even then is much easier if you have access to mentioned earlier table (which i don't have, and which mysis probably have ;) ).

I tried Arc the Lad - End of Darkness (SLUS-21165)
And problem is still present, no text in dialogue window, and freeze :(
I download config here
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B_gwzi9aJqA2RlgwaEtzSTBxVnM

I am having trouble running CONFIG files too.

Is this the correct path/filename needed to run arc the lad?

/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/ARCTHELADENDOFDARKNESS.ISO.CONFIG
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/ARCTHELADENDOFDARKNESS.ISO

I am using rebug 4.81.2 cobra 7.52 CEX

Yes. If your config don't work open iso file using winrar and check that it have SLUS_211.65 file inside. Because config work only with that version.

Thank you for your reply. It is indeed the SLUS_211.65 version, confirmed using WinRAR.

Yet I still get the "no dialog window" problems, just like the ps3 isn't even reading the CONFIG.

I must be doing something wrong. Is this supposed to work with non-bc consoles?

Thanks.

Can you run game then go to PS button menu, then push :dir left::but l1::but r1::but square: in the same time for ~7 seconds, then release all butons and push start. You should see new options in menu.

Go to "Configuration", and in upper right corner will be something like this: Config Revision: XXXXX or Config Revision: None. Post result here.

And firstly tell me you made your config manually? Or you downloaded it somewhere? Maybe is bad config.

SLUS-21165 (1.03) Config file revision: None

I took the configs from the collection uploaded to gdrive. The same place Vaan grabbed his:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B_gwzi9aJqA2RlgwaEtzSTBxVnM

(so I guess the config file isn't being read?)

thank you

Yes for some reason its not read. Are you sure you didn't made any typo in name?
Maybe name iso ARC.ISO and config ARC.ISO.CONFIG for testing purposes. Remember that name is case sensitive, and CONFIG need to be in capital letters.

Just tried that. Still doesn't work. I get the "config revision: none" every time. Thanks for your time.

Tried running with sMAN, Managunz, MultiMAN. Same result.

You are doing something wrong, it must work. You have the same setup as I have. Are you renaming files on PC or on console?

PC via Filezilla
I'm just going to work.. Here is my setup for arc the lad, compare it. Maybe you will find something.

Thank you very much. Couldn't find anything though. Even tried renaming the files exactly like yours. Still doesn't read the CONFIG.

Same thing with dot hack infection iso.

The PS3 reads the CONFIG files of my converted Ar Tonelico games though.

Works for both DW3 and DW3XL, thanks.

Also, can anyone test Crash Twinsanity and Hitman Contracts, for me configs dont work in this games.
About Fast and Furious, game dont freeze anymore, but ugly reflections make it very hard to play, same problem with Pimp my Ride.
In Guitar Hero 3 and GHAerosmith, config dont work for me.

these are all the problems I have encountered
I do not know if it was useful

- Dragon Quest 8
sound stuttering when it comes to talking and there are texts, heavy lag in some scenes (example in the prison lift with "high priest rolo"), black stripes in all black and white cutscenes (eg in the final scene of the Alexandria Tower ), characters glitch out strangely in some cutscene (example when you first start with the boat after Alexandria and at the end of the trodain game)

-Rogue Galaxy
Black and White Video also give you problems like dragon quest 8,
the game may be blocked every now and then, on 35 hours of gambling I got locked 10-12 times
you should save when you have the chance
The game sometimes lags especially in cities like Zerard

- Cold Fear
in FMVs you press the START button randomly, skipping the entire movie
you have to load the game to see it again

- Dirge of Cerberus
In some areas and boss the game snaps a bit heavily,
sounds every now and then from problems such as FFXII, FFX (For example, after the initial movie of the game, if you let the Dirge of Cerberus write down, you will notice the problem)

- Final Fantasy X
The game works perfectly, though though a few times the audio has problems with sound like FF XII (example with autoscout monster attacks and the rest of machine monsters)
