PS3 DECH-2500A Testkit

From what i've gathered and dumped, there are various builds of NFS: Hot Pursuit. Ranging from various file names to dates, 2011 to 2012.

Including it's own unique launcher to boot the various builds.

EDIT: Totalling at a whopping 36.3GB
It's not uncommon to find game source code on second hand debug consoles.
Back it up & keep it safe.

this is an official debug feature and it can be enabled on cex through qa and no need to do so for dev consoles. you can also make an additional folder on usb PS3/UPDATE/SEARCH and put renamed pups inside
Oh cool, so system update debug is enabled by default on DECH consoles with no option to enable it?

I thought he would have seen the options inside system update if it was already enabled. I have only used DREX though so didn't know that.

These are the supposed files that are "viruses", except when i tell it to restore them, they get quarantined again. Frustrating...

Seems the builds of games, are NFS like i said, but one i've just booted is a NFS: Most Wanted build, interesting.

Shame it's from EA, they make mostly shite! :-p
Haha xD, still, perusing through debug/dev builds of games you're never mean't to see is quite the experience.

EDIT: Especially when you physically own a console used by an EA Developer, just the thought of that once i got it blew me back as i never thought i would ever have something like this in my possession. I was quite overcome with joy. :-p

then you are more lucky than me with the homefront2 build or the dev crysis builds on my "Debby". they all lack the launcher, so probably they were all hosted on debugging stations :(

Damn that sucks, i guess i was then. May i ask what your "Debby" out of curiousity is?

sorry, I have to correct myself. it is just a tool and I think reference are only 1000A. probably you have ment these models, which look like a desktop pc. the 1400A look like a retail fat ps3

Ahh no problem, still, it's a fitting nickname for it. :D

Also, just wanted to thank you lot for helping me out yet again, it took a while and a bit of troubleshooting but i managed to do what i needed to in the end. :-p

Just wanted to post another quick question, i noticed that the system's Model number, the last 2 digits depict what region the console is from, like my retail systems are 2503 and 2003. 03 being for UK. But all dev/testkits are 00, and that's Japan's region code. How come these kits have only Japan's region code?

multiMAN works too, runs on the system fine. I checked the psdevwiki and looked at the DTCP-IP system video that was linked to the DECH-3000A page and noticed the thumbnail had multiman in it. so i tried the v4.60 version and it booted it fine, now have full access to the system including the flash.

EDIT: Although, seems a bit buggy?
EDIT 2: Yeah, as before, while i can see the full directory listing. I still cannot access them, the file manager in multiman closes itself or in ftp, the directory fails to list.

about 3.55 dex, I would use the pup with md5 047671664d9241c04d44278944e153d9. it is the official one with added spkg support, to downgrade to 3.60- fw
Can confirm, 355-001d didn't throw any errors. Now downgraded to 3.55, thanks a bunch haxxxen. :D

EDIT: Found this post too that helped me confirm some things.
