Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition Moding

Hi all. Got something interesting here for Duke fans. With the relevantly recent port of Duke3D to the PS3/XBOX360/Steam, I decided to poke around a bit in the game files and guess what? all the game files are the same as the original DOS release and easily editable (.GRP .CON .DEF) plus the new menu scripts (add in game selectable mods) even the new hi-res files are standard .PNGs with editable scripts defining what PNG to replace what in game texture, so you can add more.

Just throwing this out there for old-school modders

Yes, I have tried the old tools and they work just fine and Notepad++ is a god send for .CON editing :)

Hey, so sorry for necrobump but I finally got around to start modding this game. So far I have replaced the original in game John St. John voiceovers with the newer rerecorded high quality modern VO from the 20th anniversary edition. I am trying to figure this out but info is super limited on the console versions of this game. So far I have found only 2 instances of people posting about modding the game and their methods to get mods loaded up on the Vita version. Trying to see how far I can get the PS3 version pushed. I was interested in trying to get the HRP assets working on this port, but from what I have read on the Vita version somebody had to create plugin loader to get it working. It supposedly also only worked on an earlier build of the game at time of his post and only with the EU version.

And here is where I got the idea to add in the 20th anniversary voiceover mod.

As you can see from the 2nd link the person got a lot of the High Resolution Mod pack working well in the game on Vita. I wanted that mod working on a console since I first discovered it back in like 2008 or so when it was still very early days. So potentially getting it working on PS3 is a very big deal to me, in any way shape of form even if not perfect I could care less. I just want to see what it can do.

So I just wanted to ask for a little help or some tips here so I can know what the best steps are to take here to get mods loading from in game menu, which they mentioned being able to do in the first link .. But not really much for me to go on being a noob.
