PS3 EDAT (A few questions about contentID/klic)

the best way be to sniff the links, then find the rif in the exdata folder. back both up like I've done. I've separated game, dlc, etc.:

back that stuff up, 'cause copying and pasting a game will work, but it can be unstable if the game has thousands of files (like little big planet).

Pony started to delete game updates from their servers, for example motorstorm/motorstorm pacific rift/resistance FOM/ratchet TOD ... and I'm saving all I can offline before they take everything down. Happens that a bunch of free DLCs that came out in the first week of the launch of motorstorm PR are only avaiable for the US version (they were available in both store but online I can only find for the US ver.) and I'm trying to make them work with the EU version.

Those dlc's are just edats with 304bytes that enable cars and there's a new year one that enable a track if I'm not misleading.
I can't speak for the other games but as far as Resistance goes, the game had its own patch system hosted by the developers rather than the conventional one that most games use today. Those servers went down years ago, so it has nothing to do with Sony.

Besides, if Sony were to pull the plug on game updates, they'd probably disable them all at one time instead of gradually deleting updates from their servers. Also, they'd probably make some kind of announcement before doing so.

you can download updates with ps3tools as well. make a backup of the update.
Yes, but can't find updates for BCES00006, from what I could find of threads from 2008 it had a v3.1 with dualshock 3 support and a lot of bug corretions.

Motorstorm is from evolution studios (ended in 2016), and motorstorm pacific rift (their 2nd) still has its update available
