File Transer Tips NTFS/FAT32

Looking for the best tips and tricks for transferring files to the ps3.

So far i've found that sending directly ftp is the best method as no files over 4gb can be transferred or placed on fat32. My only issue is ftp file transfers seem to be slow as hell.

Anyone have any tips or better/faster methods?

Multiman seems to detect my ntfs iso directories no problem, but it doesn't actually show it in file manager making transferring files impossible. Looking for a solution to install .pkg or copy iso from ntfs but can't seem to figure it out.

There has to be some simpler tips and tricks i can try.

Check if you have gigabit ethernet on PC. If you do a good way to connect them is 1 ethernet cable directly, You need to set up manual IPs as there will be no DHCP server.Optionally you can set up internet connection sharing if you have multiple adaptors on your PC/laptop, this way you still have internet on your PC/PS3.

Here is an example of some IP settings that work.

I can get about 1GB per minute with that set up on large files, small files are much slower. So I recommend converting PS3 games to ISO if they are folder rips.

For pkgs, the quickest method IMO is PS3netserv, pkgs can install directly from PC without having to copy to PS3 hdd first.

Another way is making an ISO image with pkgs on the root, and mounting that from a NTFS drive.

I use Filezilla for PS3 games in folder mode, is the fastest I tried (the only one actually). You can transfer several heavy games but the speed depends of if you're using a wired or wireless connection. Also, if you have a PC/notebook with a gigabit port and router with gigabit ports, then you should see a great improvement in speed.

for big files, I have a NTFS usb drive, and put all the files there.
then I can open it with Irisman's file manager with no issues. You can then copy or mount the drive, and install from XMB
