PS VITA / PS TV Flycast-Vita (Dreamcast Emulator) v1.1: Fast GDRom Load option + Latest downstreamed commits

PlayStation Vita developer @Rinnegatamante continues the magic in the homebrew scene. Over the last weeks we have already seen various release's like Doom64EX / VitaDB Downloader / RigelEngine Vita / Zelda3 Vita and today the developer stopped by the forum to release v1.1 update of Flycast-Vita (Dreamcast Emulator), in this update the option for "Fast GDRom Load" has been added, this will provide faster loading times, however the v1.1 chanelog also warns that some games may cause more issues then benefits with this option enables. Also in the update this port was Downstreamed to the latest official Flycast commit, Take note that BoxArt Support is now disabled by default. This should help performance if you have alot of roms in your directory.

  • Flycast Vita is a port of Flycast (A popular opensource Dreamcast emulator) for the PlayStation Vita. Due to the nature of the console emulated by this emulator, it's not to be expected a perfect emulation on every available title. You can consult a Compatibility List from this link: https://newflycast.rinnegatamante.it/.

    Latest Update v1.1
    • Downstreamed to latest official Flycast commit. (BoxArts support has been disabled by default. It's recommended to enable it from emu.cfg solely if you have few roms cause, with a lot of roms, it will cause general instability in the emulator due to mem constraints).
    • Added Fast GDRom Load option. (Faster loading times in games but may cause issues in some games).
