FMCB\FHDB Noobie Package

PS2 FMCB\FHDB Noobie Package

No it is not. PS2 starting to OSDSYS, from where OSD Update is searched first on MC, and if not found it, then search on HDD. Then it starting it (bootstrap), which starting eg. HDD OSD. Executables used for it must be signed but this have nothing to do with Magic Gate.

If you started HDD OSD in improper way, like eg by uLE, then it will act like OSDSYS because it is OSDSYS, but newer and not in rom0. Lack of bootstrap parrams feeding to HDD OSD and hw initializing will result in problems.

Examples of proper ways:
A. OSDSYS >> FHDB bootstrap >> FHDB >> HDD OSD inheriting
B. PS2BBL bootstrap >> PS2BBL >> HOSDM patcher >> HDD OSD
C. HOSDM bootstrap >> HOSDM loader >> HDD OSD
E. OSDSYS >> HDD OSD bootstrap >> HDD OSD

So where do the bootstrap parrams come from? one of these loaded module list files?

UDNL
IOPBTCONF
IOPBTCON2
OSDCNF
EELOADCNF

I want to load the hosdsys from cdvd as if it where real rom0:osdys instead of hdd since ps2_netemu has no hdd support an the memory card is probably too small to contain all the hosdys update files,
I think somebody already managed to get it working via usb instead for one of the earlier ps2 dex models? but may have still been loading the update files off the hdd?

pcsx2 will load the hosdsys off the hdd with ps2_netemu bios using the missing slimline dev9 fat modules but this isn't an option for the ps3 since the emulator still doesn't support hdd, idk about ps2_softemu hdd support?

Oh I am not surprised it is. But my experience in providing assistance on reddit teached me we should'nt expect too much from beginners, most of them barely understand how to use FMCB Configurator to add items to OSD-SYS hacked. My suggestion for creating a OPL beta placeholder already set up in mass:/APPS in FREEHDB.CNF & FREEMCB.CNF was merely to make them able to update their OPL version the simpliest way possible (downloading a file and copy it to USB doesn't requiere any PS2 knowledge, as opposed to use wLE and use psu copy/paste).

Better is point them to R4D: :D All there is pre-configured. Eg installing FMCB coming with ESR R10f and BDMA.

Consider it as new noobie-package. ;d

And if only config, in "/MISC/configurations/" there are some, or "/MISC/containers/PSUja/PSU/System Configuration.psu" which have FMCB/OSDM/PS2BBL/uLE/wLE config.

Plus, SAS applications in APPS in mSAS dir.
