Format ps3 and act.dat

Right, i have my IDPS which i used to download the PSN content (the official banned one that came with the console) by looking at 'system information' in Multiman. i have all the rifs/raps/edats from 3 different users..
so how can i make these work again on a new psid and idps?
i have a backup of the ps3 hdd with all the stuff installed (which im guessing you can repackage?)
and i also have a backup of the ps3 hdd before i installed them (bubbles in game column).
ive been trying to do this for over a year now but this site looks promising so im hoping you pros know what to do?
i've just completely wiped my ps3.
thanks in advance
If you are spoofing ids, use webMAN-MOD to apply the console ids on boot or use IDPSet by Zar to make id changes remain.

If you need to restore licences, you can try the reActPSN way that has already been described in this thread.

For info, you know you can also use psnpatch to "install" your raps/edat for the current user.
Put all your files on a fat32 USB key in a folder called exdata. Plug it in the console.
Install psnpatch 2015.11/A then launch the app.
Press the L1 button. Voilà.

About restoring hdd content, when you say you have a backup of the original ps3 hdd, what kind of backup? A backup made with the XMB utility? Or a copy of the disk?

I have a complete copy of the ps3 HDD using multiman MMOS.
I know how to use psnpatch and ReActPSN but it doesn't seem to work for these files.
I have downloaded content on 3 users, so I have 3 folders of exdata, 3 act.dat for these users and all their rif raps and edat.

So if I have a copy of the ps3 HDD when it was all installed, How can I repackage the installed pkg's then install them on a fresh hdd and activate them with what I have?

Was there a act.dat in your exdata folder along with the rif files?

Yes I have 3 users that I downloaded content on. which means I have 3 folders each with their own rifs, raps, edats and act.dat.

Would it be easier if I upload a photo of my backup contents?

So you want to recreate the 3 user accounts & restore rifs/raps.. for each one or try to merge all into one account?

i'd rather merge to one account but either way would be nice.
i just want all the stuff i paid for from PSN to be working because i cant access the accounts anymore and the stuff i have isn't available on ***PlayStation Store*** or ***PlayStation Store***....

1. Copy Your games folders into "dev_hdd0/games/".
2. Rebuild database because this junk OS doesn't read content from HDD in real time, instead it using databases which are edited during installing/removing such content as game cache, save files, trophy files etc. Repackaging it's waste of time.
3. Copy all "*.rif" files from all accounts into one, into Your current user account (i.e to "dev_hdd0/home/00000001/exdata/).
4. Activate them via ReActPSN (or before copy them to "dev_usb???/exdata/ if this will not work, or find "*.rap" files and do the same if this will not work). Read readme for React (triangle > update history (it's not update history but this app using "*.his" as readme ;))).

Of course don't copy all the files (99% are useless btw) from backup... Only data which You want restrore (so i.e don't copy data from dev_flashes, tmps, cache etc.).

Ok im going to try this now.. so reactpsn can also reactivate rif files or do i need to use the rif2rap tool to convert them to raps?

and just out of interest, is there a way to repackage them into a .pkg and a .rap so i can delete this massive useless backup?
i want it like i have the rest of the backup (how it is from downloading from ***PlayStation Store***) just a pkg and rap.
ALSO.. when i lost my ghosts dlc from the permanent ban, i managed to find all the dlc and a 'fix all dlc.pkg' instead of .rap files...
does anyone know how to make these? they seem a lot easier to use..
thanks again guys

There are various ways to do all this.
Psnpatch installs rifs/raps... It's the easiest way imo. Personally I don't like reActPSN at all TBH especially as it's old & never updated while there are alternatives for 99% of its features.
Consider looking into a PC app called PSN Liberator as well, it may be of interest to get rid of all those licences issues.

ok im copying over the 'game' contents now, then i'll use PSNPatch.
Am i meant to be doing something with these act.dat's i have or are they not needed when i have the rif/rap files?

u need the act.dat to decrypt the rif files, so it's needed.

I did not. the closest I have to that is restoring games after hdd corruption.
Which may be similar in a way? I must have read it ages ago which is why I thought you had written something along those lines.
It's actually a good idea for a tut..
3 users this past 2 weeks have asked similar questions.... Just a thought.. [emoji6]

yeah, u need to use robocopy. it's only useful for people who have their psn games/content on an external hdd though. that's where I store most of mine, and I just use gamedata tool.

ok so i just copied everything to game and rebuilt database.
used psnpatch to install rap and edat (it didnt install the .rifs) and it still wants to take me to psnstore to activate...

press, I think triangle to see if it lists u as the purchaser of the game. rif files don't require psn patch. they're already ready. rif files r encrypted which the act.dat will decrypt turning them into a rif key which in turn decrypts the game.

So it sounds like I need to use the rif2rap tool to convert them with my act.dat I used to download it with then yea?
Last time I tried to use rif2rap, I failed and I think you have to do it one at a time?
