Help!!! Jailbreak a fat PS3 (CECHJ04) on Version 4.75

Hello everybody,

I got a fat 40 GB PS3 from a friend and want to do a jailbreak on it. Currently the System Software is on 4.75 and I get an update to 4.85. Can I do a Jailbreak on 4.75 and how to? I'm new to the forum and PS3 Jailbreaking, hopefully can someone help me out! :)

P.S. On YT I found some videos for 4.82 Jailbreak, but I don't know if the flash file for 4.82 will brick the ps3 and the ps3 can be jailbroken, bcs. with the Minvercheck I got a 2.70 lowest firmware version

The flash file for 4.82 can only be used in OFW 4.82 ONLY!!!!!!!
Doing otherwise will lead you to problems.
 
Yes, I was wrong, also 4.83, but mine is the eu model, so I need to download the update file for EU right?
 
Follow everything @littlebalup says to the T and you will have a great running system.
Been using his verification tool since I picked up my first e3 flasher, and his stuff still works great w/ ps3xploit

PSN is the only place you should download games from except maybe for some emulated games & a few homebrew games. Getting licensed ps3 games from other online sources is piracy for which you will get no help in this forum due to our rules/guidelines.

Anyway on CFW, the best game format to use is iso which can easily be made from original retail discs. Considering the very low price of a second hand ps3 game on disc in most places, there is no excuse for ripping them off.

I was always wondering if a dirt cheap second hand game disk would satisfy the terms of piracy.
Just think for a moment. A new game is released, 100 people buys it, plays trough in a coupe of days and resells. This goes on, until everyone interested got a chance to play the game. (offline)
Not much different than pirated copied games imho.
 
The disc, is the license to play, not the software itself.
When you bought it second hand, you bought the license to play it.
Passing the game to someone else, or selling to them is a transfer of license.
Just like any other digital asset. So the second hand market is quite different.

The EU, US, JP etc. are just mirrors of the same file. Downloading from the mirror closest to your geographical location will possibly make the download quicker, but the firmware itself is universal.
