PS3 How to go from Ferrox 4.82 to Rebug 4.81?

I'm stuck :( Used all the QA Togglers here and i am currently on CEX Ferrox+COBRA 4.82. Stuck on a black screen and it will not return to the XMB. When i tried usb installing it gave me "corrupt data" after reboot

did you test the button combo over network settings? the button combo is: L2 + L1 + R1 + R2 + L3 + D-pad Down all at the same time. several new options should appear below network settings if you're qa flagged.

Seems not to work. Does it have anything to do that im using a PS4 controller? i dont have a ps3 controller.

This is my first time ever having a modded console, only other mods ive ever had is a flashed disc drive on a 360, so im sorry if im asking alot

It doesnt seem like any of my "homebrew" apps actually work, they all boot into black screens and leave me there :(

before anything can you test your blueray drive?just put in anything and see if it loads a disc and report here.you don't need to run anything from the disc, just see if it loads.

I know my BD Laser is broken, so it wont load anything. Basically the main reason why i even jailbroke the ps3

then that's why you can't load anything, you need special noBD version of cfw.go flash a overflow v5 noBD and see if load apps.

that's right, pached rebug would flash but it can't load any apps or games because of your broken blueray drive.

not entirely sure here. I believe the update is moved from the flash drive to dev_hdd1 where it's decrypted. that partition is 2GBs and is formatted as fat32 just like the flash drive.
I forgot to mention I copied the update via ftp to /dev/hdd0/updater/rebug_8.81.2.pup, so it's still possible that my USB drive has a corrupted PS3UPDAT.PUP.. But many users seem to have that issue when trying to install it from USB drive :uncomfortableness:

athenaa:

now you can use habbib's qa toggle tool from brewology and then you can flash noBD cfw of your choice.

edit: beware of cfw's source.i can't vouch for what i didn't test,i'm myself on noBD rebug but i think i got mine from pshax or some other reputable source.always md5 hash check cfw that you gonna flash to avoid softbricking.

I successfully QA Flagged it and verified it using the button combo. Tried to install the FW i mentioned above and it comes with DATA IS CORRUP (8002F169)

yes.if that cfw is good.

1.download habbib's qa tool
2.install via fat32 usb from packages
3.run it,it goes to black screen, wait for it to come back to xmb
4.restart
5.flash noBD cfw of your choice

if during flashing corrupted error pops out, restart,do agains steps 3 to 5.
