I tried two different hard drives on my CFW fat PS3; can't read NTFS no matter what I do.

I think I might've made a single bin/cue for dino crisis with a virtual drive and imgburn. I know that the anti-modchip protection patch required the bin to be a certain size, and it required a single bin, when the game is two bins with a cue file. the US patch was messed up, so I used the European one, and it worked. :D

One other thing that I can mention is that Multiman absolutely refuses to "refresh my games & xmb" or even just "refresh my games". I click it a thousand times and it literally does nothing. Possibly after an hour of trying it MIGHT finally work, but it's incredibly rare. Is this because I am using an NTFS drive?

I've never used an ntfs drive. right now, I'm using only the internal hdd. before ntfs was a thing, I used some external hdds, but one failed; the other I managed to salvage all psx games with the psx classic. I had to go to gamefaqs, where I'm banned, didn't sign in, but I got the box art from there.

ps2 on external will be moved to internal when loading. it will take a couple minutes, so it's not worth it.

OK so I did exactly this and it kind of worked. The problem I am now having is no PS2 games show up, and PS1 games are doing something really weird. I am only getting around 350 PS1 games to show up (out of 800), and I think it's because it treats every single file as a PS1 game.

Yea I'm not sure. I can only guarantee this with PS3 games. Like I said in my very first post:

I suggest using the 5tb drive for PS3 for ISO's.

I put my limited number of ps2 games on the internal hard drive. It seems you have 2 posts going on about this now:

https://www.psx-place.com/threads/f...-way-to-run-my-huge-ps2-iso-collection.33110/

Using this drive is experimental like others have mentioned and is not supported. I happened to find this workaround that works great with PS3 games. It has always been my understanding that the PS2 games should be on the internal for some reason. this is half the reason I haven't tried ps2 games and the other half is I'm not that big on PS2 games. here is a video about the different file structures and formats. However, Keep in mind: prep Iso is needed in his example, then it messes things up with the 5tb drive like I said, you should not use prep iso with the 5tb drive method and advanced formatting. I'm not sure if you got that part and are not using prep iso or if you still are. I asked but you never confirmed it. So I can't help you troubleshoot with limited info. as far as I can tell even he says at 18:30 you cannot play from external. So I think you might be out of luck.

I would suggest If it's not working with the 5tb drive:

Install them to hard drive when you want to play and keep favorites there (even with all my game updates and DLC I have 600 plus gb free for that that's a lot for flexibility )

I think you are referring to webman mod? If you are using multiman that might be an issue. Its not as great for a game loader in my opinion. I mainly use webman mod and that was #5 in the troubleshooting guide. It refreshes for me every time, Might take 30 seconds max to go to a black screen, but it always works.

so i have a External HDD 320 toshiba with a usb 3.1 to sata adaptor.
the drive is in format fat32 and its MRB and set as logical
but the ps3 refuses to read my drive, what could it be the 3.1 usb ?
