Yes, but it installs slower and BD writer and media are quite expensive . Pkg Linker will cost you a network cable .

I'm sorry, I really am. But it's hilarious scrolling past this thread for the first time seeing
One guy: nope
The next guy: yep
This sure put a smile on my face idk about the rest of you.

that's how install pkgs looks on cfw. don't know about han, but I assume it's the same. install pkgs is near the bottom of the category_game.xml . I wrote a tutorial on this. iirc, there are three install pkg locations with og being one of them. this is based on memory from years ago. ;)

You can install pkg's even without a DVD.They won't run though if they are unsighned code such as multiman or any other ps3 games that are homebrew. They install but wont run on ofw.If it's for games that go past the 4gb limit then just use pkg linker with a lan cable.

That's the problem with people answering questions they don't know the answers to. :) that's also why I posted the relevant code showing why I was right. :)

Note: if anyone is using the stripped down category_game.xml that I posted when people were having issues with ingame XMB not loading, afaik remember I removed all pkg paths except usb000 and usb001, so use the category game xml from the official han support files if you want to install pkgs from DVD or MS.

Actually I am thinking on burning ps2 pkgs on dvd so 4gb wont be a problem, I guess lol.

Thank you for clearing things out, I highly appreciate it :D

I don't even own a bluray burner. :-P op, if you have a bc system, you may be able to use swap magic 3.8, unless sony has patched that. I still own my swap magic from the 3.55 days. I used it on my first ps3. this is for burns only btw and not ps2 classics.

You might need DL layer DVDs for some ps2 games iirc. Most will be fine. Anyway the 4GB barrier wont be an issue on disk media as the filesystem is not fat32.

I have ultra slim ps3, I used to hot swap ps1 games in it, but it wont play ps2 dvd even the legit ones.
I have 1tb internal with about 20gb free with ~50 empty dvd that I bought dirt cheap.

Super (ultra?) slim models can't play PS2 games unless they're downloaded or converted to PSN PKG type using HAN but no PS2 ISO/Disc support afaik
