PS3 Internet Browser problems

I've been looking at different CAs but I don't understand about this. Would SSLForFree, ZeroSSL and CACert CAs have the same problem as let's encrypt?
Well..
In /dev_flash/data/cert, your have a series of certificate files, it's the trusted store basically.
The trusted CAs are all there, all the newer additions in recent years are found in CA_LIST.cer.
If you look there, you will find both let's encrypt CAs, the DST X3 and the ISRG X1.
No idea why the latter doesn't work..

For other SSL certificate solutions, in theory you would need to check that they use RSA SHA 256 and whether they are cross signed with a root CA included in the PS3 trusted store but ideally in practice what you really need is a test page for each proposed certificate, so you can be sure it works on PS3, something that few SSL issuers/resellers seem to offer...

while using mitmproxy that allows ps3 to connect to the toolset and work just fine earlier is the ps3 exploitation framework download failed with the page cannot be displayed 8070028 in the toolset log caused from it being disabled while you are working on finding an updated working ssl certificate or was the certificate update from the google trusted cause it since it worked perfectly before. Hope it was from it being turned off while you updated the certifcates to avoid problems if server restarts were needed while doing that. I tested normally again and it throws that 06 error still. I checked the log on mitmproxy and it does show 401 on 4 files with a
HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized and access denied.

Unfortunately, I also just confirmed that 80710a06 is still showing on a 4.91 phat.

Dear all, trying the mitm process to overcome this issue, I was able to fetch ps3toolset
but ps3 web browser reports, "The ps3 explotation framework download failed" not yet able to download this tool, Thanks @bguerville for all the effort done by now
Looks something on my mitmweb server configuration, will try again and reply if found something.

As a bit of an update though: I used the proxy method someone mentioned earlier on a CECHB01 which worked perfect... well, except that I can't seem to get any games to run through mutliman except for one... not sure what that's all about.

I just tried to use the proxy to check it on a CECHK01 and even though the Toolset loads up, I get the error "This page cannot be displayed. (80710028)".

I sure picked an exciting night to finally try this! Can't say I understand a fraction of the work you're all doing, but I had to make an account to say you're all amazing and I'm learning a heck of a lot trying to keep up with this. Thank you all for every moment of your efforts to fix this for us plebs.

I have no skills to contribute to this, but if there's any way I can donate a little to help keep this magic going, please hit me with it and I'll see what I can do after payday. <3

Exactly the same issue as mine, 80710028 PS3 phat CECHH00 (JPN version) on freshly new HDD 1TB with OFW 4.91, then flashed with HFW 4.91.2 (looks russian or something) , mitmweb was able to run ps3tools but framework download failed and page show the same message. trying to play with configurations.

mitmproxy.org

yee, it was the first thing I tried, and I have since discovered the *NEXT PAGE* button so I could read the discussion.

Thanks for telling me!!!

I asked since at this moment that method is broken, and I thought I was doing something wrong. That and I didn't realize there were 4 more pages.

Thank you bguerville for all that you do for the community. I genuinely appreciate what you do for all of us.

To setup mitmproxy was easy but now I get instead of the 80710a06 error another error 80710b23

For example without mitmproxy I can update date and time over Internet.
With mitmproxy I get the errorcode 80710b23 when I update date and time over the internet.

I searched already for solutions but nothing work.
I am having the same problem at the moment.

There's a new thread dedicated to the Toolset SSL issue

HOWEVER

we are ONLY looking to discuss SSL solutions and potential donations to cover costs..
We will also post news there as they come up.

Please do not use this new thread to ask for ETA, discuss workarounds, to comment or complain, Keep that stuff to other threads or create your own if need be.

Thanks for understanding.

Hope the ssl gets resolved soon. Only now asking if the proxy server method is blocked or not since it worked til recently after the first ssl change which now fails to download the framework and the logs show 401 and access denied errors. If that now got blocked for some reason would be nice to know if possible for security reasons or other so others know the proxy method no longer works or is unsafe or such. Hope you get this taken care of soon and thanks for the creation and hosting of the tool set. Works well with checking syscon errlogs and patching for cfw.

It's as I feared.
Google Trust Services issuer now renamed WE1 is now using a ECDSA algorithm instead of RSA in their certificates.
Their certs are no longer PS3 compliant.
I found that I could get a dump of the website running locally. I also found some old mirrors of the website from when ps3exploit was down and they all loaded on my ps3. I don't know anything about networks so I don't know if it helps bet I thought it was interesting. But this is all from when the website was down and only works for up to 4.89

The proxy trick was never supposed to work in the first place, I never really checked what happened there but I would assume that temporary settings changes for testing purposes may have allowed it, in any case you should not really count on being able to use it.

Toolset mirrors are all made with incomplete code made public without authorisation a couple of years ago or so.
Up to you to trust who you want to trust.
But I can offer no help or support.

As to the old Flash Writer alternative, it's deprecated as far as the ps3xploit team is concerned, it's been in other people's hands for some time now, just search appropriate threads.

DW I have an E3 Flasher so hopefully I can make use of it yeah? I looked everywhere for a progskeet flasher for NAND but couldn't find one in stores for USA. My plan is to test on BC, and Non BC onwards for CFW I just hope it's affordable.. If you do happen to stumble upon one available for online stores feel free to PM me.

proxy method no longer works anymorei ig something has been changed on toolset end.
the ps3 exploitation framework download failed (80710028)
@cikocet any insight on here? i tried to play proxy setting a bit but no luck at all.

for 4.91, only reliable and safe solution is your toolset. flash writer is up to 4.90. ofc there stolen code imposter R* website, but that is not even a option, at least for me.

thank you for your hard work as always!

Can confirm this 100% works! doing it as we speak! This is a very simple and easy solution until the developer figures out a more proper solution on the backend.

follow his instructions closely and make sure you're inputting your IP only in the proxy server settings. You can find your iPV4 on command prompt by typing ipconfig . Once you put IP in leave port as is and proceed to next step which is doing the internet test.

With that method I can connect to the internet I can get on to PS3 tool set but then it says the PS3 exploitation framework download failed
