PS3 IRISMAN v3.44: 4.70 CFW Support by Aldostools

The backup manager known as IRISMAN by developer Aldo Vargas (aldostools) has matured to version 3.44. This update gives support for 4.70 CFW, adds the mamba payload that was ported to v4.70 by NzV and his recent PRX loader was added to the manager. Then also the developer has updated the sprx_iso to handle new section sizes. See all the details of this update in the changelogs provided:[break]ss[/break]

About IRISMAN (Official description):
This is an "unofficial" version of Iris Manager 2.93 by Estwald/D-Skywalk. This version includes all the new Cobra/Mamba payload and ISO features added by Estwald. The changes that I made are mainly related to the user interface (buttons layout are more XMB-like, quick access to File Manager, progress bar when game list is scanned or file permissions are applied, colors, 16 gui modes, etc.). It also includes the Payloads from Rancid-O's PS3ITA Manager, Joonie, _NzV_ and Habib. The most notable feature is that unlike the official version, it scans GAMES/GAMEZ on the external drives.

New mamba payloads for 3.55 / 3.55D / 4.21 / 4.21D /4.30 / 4.31 / 4.40 / 4.41 / 4.41D / 4.46 / 4.46D /4.50 / 4.50D / 4.53 / 4.53D / 4.55 / 4.55D / 4.60 / 4.65 / 4.65D / 4.66 / 4.66D, 4.70. Now PS3 ISOs are playable on all these CFW without need of Cobra support.

IMPORTANT:
If you use webMAN on Cobra CFW, unmount any mounted game before launch IRISMAN.

This one is new: in addition to "copycat", now I'm also "irresponsible"... :dancestraw:

Here is a reminder of the disclamer included in the program:

The source code is available for other to fix/copy/remove/improve any feature that they want.... I do not have any obligation to fix it...
I didnt suggested you to fix it... what i said was to disable the feature with the bug (by disabling the code affected)... this way you can be 100% sure there will not be any user affected by this (extremelly dangeous) bug

I know my english sucks, but is not so hard to understand, incase of "deaf" read my first message in page 1 when i used the word "please" because it was a suggestion not an agression as you want to take it

Ok please build me new rcos for 4.70 REBUG that would save my time :)

If it is possible xml also :)

it seems I'm having the same problem that Metion is having, I can still make up the xmls tonight but I'm not gonna give up on the rco either :hmmm:

i think the problem is with gimconv, because i converted the psn logo to png and back to gim without editing the image and it didn't worked

Aldo, the fancontroll when using the "payload" mode (where fan is controlled with variable speeds)... is broken since version 2.30 or so (people is reporting in eol forum the last version where it was working normally was 2.28b)

If you dont want to fix or make a regression of the code related... then please disable it because it can make some PS3's to go YLOD

IRISMAN's fan controller seems working find on my end. It's only that app doesn't work since 2.30?

I don't get it.. I'm confused

the latest one that aldostools ported was 2.08B that's on his blog.

Everything else is from Orion

Just for chips and giggles I put rco from 4.65.2 on there and the old REBUG PSN icon showed up but other icons disappeared. I actually think they changed something in the building of the rco that rcomage doesn't recognize

thanks but we're looking to put the image into a 4.70 rco not the one from 4.65 ( Metion if you look Create New User icon isn't loading & Sign In, Playstation Plus, Playstation Store, app_home and Install Pkg Files icons are missing)

Xmls are also changed.. There are about 8rcos to be modded and their following xmls..

Ok guys i did it and in not compressed image, high quality, using the original 4.70 rco, i only tested this 4.70 rco on 4.66 and there are no missing icons and i think it should work on 4.70 too
In a few minutes i'll post the files and how i did it.

give me a list and I'll get to work as soon as Metion tells me how he did it. also maybe upload the one he did so I can test on 3.70

So after trying the entire day (is 4 am here in italy) to convert this png to gim i tought to give the manual hex editing a try, so i generated multiple gim using all gimconv's options, compared them with the original one and editing a few things.

At first i got this and i thought i was going in the right direction.

As i thought the problem was with gimconv, since the original gim image is a little bit different than the generated one.

So step one is to use this command to convert from png to gim.

image.png

gimconv tex_psn.png -N

Now you have an uncompressed gim, but to make it work you have to make a few changes on an hex editor

image.png

As you might see you have to copy the selected part from the original gim over the custom one, repack it, and the magic happens!

Red PSN Logo in all of his glory.

Tomorrow i'll look for in-game xmb psn icon and maybe compare the other rebug icons to make it the same red's shade.

Now here you can have my files.

Red (Rebug) 4.70 xmb_plugin_normal.rco https://www.sendspace.com/file/qdjyn3
Original xmb_plugin_normal.rco https://www.sendspace.com/file/872qqv
Original 4.70 tex_psn.gim https://www.sendspace.com/file/15mxjq
Red (Rebug 4.70) tex_psn.gim https://www.sendspace.com/file/aqqh7q

As it may seem i've spent too much time to change a stupid icon color, but i enjoyed it and it was really satisfying when i've succeeded.

For the ingame one it's a bit different. When unpacking xmb_ingame.rco you can see that tex_psn.gim is smaller than the one used in xmb_plugin_normal.rco and you can't use the same gim.

So use the command suggested by .ELF to convert from png to a compressed gim with the same weight of the original one

gimconv tex_psn.png -ps3 --image_format dxt5

It will give an error but thats fine, then like before copy the same selection from the original tex_psn.gim in an hex editor, repack it and it will work.
As you might notice this icon looks a bit compressed but it's the same for the original blu one and the other ingame icons.

If you want to test it on 4.70, links are here:

Also how do i mention people? i had to add manually the mention tag
