PS3 Is there a list of already tested mods and all that?

Ever since I mod my PS3, I have fun with all the mods packages already but checking Nexus and some popular mods, I was wondering if there was a list of already tested and not working mods for Skyrim?

Or is it still very new and nothing was done?

Interesting you would ask that! :D

At the moment there isn't a huge tested/non-tested mods the mods in the .pkg are the ones that have been tested and work quite well. It seems smart to make a big list like this, but really it wouldn't work out so well. There would be lots of problems making a list as with different people's modding systems mods could or could not work (depends on what interfering mods are installed).

Those are just some reasons, but I get what you are really saying is there a list for the popular mods? Well not really no... The only way to see if a mod works is test it yourself, worst case scenario it doesn't work so you uninstall it. To be honest most of the mods on the popular/top list don't work or are very slow in my experience. You can't have too many mods installed, up to 50 is a big load for the system, up to 20 is OK but could even cause issues. I have only ever had up to 10 mods installed. If you are willing to put up with lag and crashes I would say you could go up to 30 mods.

Here is a list of mods to avoid though:
1. Mods that are big quest mods (Falskaar, Bruma, etc). Whilst these MAY work the DDS textures affiliated with them is just too much for the PS3 (especially since most of the textures are high-res, I will be updating my Skyrim EE modding guide with a guide for optimizing DDS textures soon).

2. Mods that are over 2gb (or maybe even 1gb), these mods have a lot of files to load and can cause issues.

3. Mods for HD textures, this is a big no, I know some of the EE mods have HD textures, but it's a different story as they aren't very big mods themselves.

4. Mods that need SKSE or ENB.

5 (Optional). Try getting mods with less scripts in them, scripts can make your save bigger and can cause lag. The mod page usually says if it has no scripts etc. Take this with a grain of salt though because it's not the most important thing.

That is really all I can say, the only 100% way to see if a mod will work is just to test it, like I said before worst case scenario it doesn't work then you uninstall it. Anyways, I hope I helped! :)

So basically mods that doesn't add too much.

Nice to know. I'll update my thread with my finding. The mods already provided are cool enough but I was checking those cloaks and map update and maybe some dialogue overhaul.

As far as I know 99.99% of mods that contain sounds do not play the sounds on the PS3 probably because the header/format is different. I have never really tested a lot of mods.

I might be able to help with this if a sound file from PC and PS3 were sent to me. I don't really have the time to track that stuff down. But I'd be willing to help if someone did.

Thanks! :)

I have included a .zip with the files. The .wav is for PC and .msf is for PS3. I appreciate you looking! :D
